Good location for enjoying Richmond

Pros: The location.
Cons: The pool is very cold and the attendants/manager are very unhelpful. Really poor facility! The rooms in the hare small, dingy and cold. Disappointing.
Location: Richmond is a great place to visit and the hotel is right next to Richmond Park. The riverside walks in Richmond are good for bikes and scooters.
We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay in a hotel in Richmond during December with a heated pool so that we, and our 7-year-old son could have a swim and relax whilst also enjoying the delights of Richmond. Be aware that the pool has restricted times for families with children. This is not made clear. The pool was so cold that we couldn't stay in it comfortably for more than 5 minutes. When we asked if our son could enjoy the warmth of the hydrotherapy pool we were firmly declined, even though the staff could see that we, and other users, were shivering. The pool facility is shared by 2 hotels and is run separately. This is not made clear by the advertising. I have returned home with a cold as a result of the low temperature. The hotel staff were helpful but the pool staff were absolutely hopeless! Don't expect a comfortable stay at the Richmond Gate Hotel. It is in need of a serious overhaul. The photos are not representative of the rooms. The rooms are small, dark and noisy and the beds feel like concrete. A great shame as the staff were friendly.

Room was nice and clean though there was some mould on the windows. Extractor fan also wasn't working in the bathroom. Breakfast service was slow and milk and cutlery not replaced when it ran out. The choice of food was very good, however.

Nothing was bad but neither was it exceptional for a four star hotel. Everything was small but comfortable enough which, at the price, does not make for such a great deal

Assegnata all'arrivo una camera di categoria inferiore a quella prenotata (e pagata). Abbiamo subito segnalato l'errore ma solo dopo due giorni a seguito di una nostra ulteriore richiesta di chiarimenti ci e' stata assegnata con molte scuse una camera del tipo richiesto (ma con wi fi non funzionante) e, a titolo di risarcimento, abbiamo avuto la colazione pagata per tre giorni. Buono il centro benessere in comune con l'hotel confinante. Comunque Richmond e' davvero molto bella.

Booked on hotels.com. When booked it showed picture of very nice room but when arrived we was in a deluxe double quite basic. Very ridiculous small tv. The picture from booking was a suite so very miss leading. Wouldn't have booked if known. Hotel very empty.

Het bed was veel te smal. Bij de receptie aangegeven, na bij betaling konden we een kamer krijgen met een groter bed. Wij zijn hierop niet ingegaan. Later, een andere medewerkster, bij de receptie weer naar een andere kamer/bed gevraagd. Nu kon het wel, zonder bijbetaling, alleen de kamer was in het basement.

the breakfast was not value for money many items on the buffet were not replenished.The air conditioning in the room was badly needed as the temperature was extremely warm.
