Great location for Richmond Park

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Great hotel next to the entrance to Richmond Park. So easy to get into Richmond or down to Kew Gardens. The hotel was great, only drawback was that our twin room was quite small and stuffy. All great otherwise and we would recommend :)

Dis-appointing for a 4 star hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The bar need more choice of beers/lagers, the swimming is gloomy and needs more light around the pool area and the rooms are very average.
Location: Much better restaurants and bars nearby avoid the hotel as the restaurant is over priced.
The Hotel is very disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The bar and restaurant is gloomy and overpriced and so are the rooms given this is a 4 star hotel. I would never stay there again as the road noise is very high unless the windows are completely closed, which means that you need the air conditioning. The breakfast was very overpriced at £15 per person and we decided to avoid it altogether as this is a total rip off. Overall a low grade experience for a high price I will never stay there again ever. Better off with another hotel.

old style hotel, room was crowded. too many things didn't work, i.e. TV, sound in the bathroom, odd coloured lights, air con was old, WIFI didn't work very well at all, room was small (which is fine) but so over crowded.

Lovely Hotel

Posted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay was for our wedding night and we booked into one of the Executive rooms on the lower ground floor. The room was very spacious, decorated well, clean and very comfortable - thank you. A minor drawback was that because we did not book directly with the hotel itself, the concierge/reception staff said on the telephone I would have to arrange myself delivery of flowers and any other token gifts for my wife.

Staying for wedding

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Nice to be able to nip across the road for a stroll in Richmond Park. Nice dining room too
Cons: Would have been nice to have marmalade on the breakfast table! Also slightly less dried-up hot breakfast.
Location: Location just by gate to Richmond Park was great!
We stayed here as a base for attending a wedding - recommended by the family. It was perfectly adequate but for the prices charged I found it disappointing. We were particularly disappointed to have a semi-basement room with outlook into a concrete wall about 4' away from the window. Given that we were charged for car parking there was a notable shortage of parking spaces and it would have been good to have been given the gate code on arrival rather than on departure.

Richmond Gate Hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: an external lift could be fitted outside on the back of the property which would offer easy access to all floors.
Location: Richmond Hill
The Richmond Gate Hotel operates in a beautiful listed building, and thus, it has a lot of charm but also lots of inconveniences attached to it. There is no lift and the rooms floor is not straight. Also, whenever we walked across the room, everything shaked in the room, and presumably below.

A good hotel but ...

Posted Apr 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Richmond Gate hotel is well located & maintained. The stay however was spoilt by car parking charges that were added to the bill at heck out - at no time during the booking or check-in process were the charges highlighted, & when questioned the staff were extremely rude (the impression was that they have the same conversation with their guests every day.)

Great Location

Great location the the top of Richmond Hill. Two good pubs nearby and 10 minutes walk to Richmond centre. £10 by taxi from Richmond station or use the 371 bus (10 minutes about every 10 minutes) bus stop American University. Only negative of the hotel is small size TVs with incorrertly set picture ratios.
