Super attentive staff

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The staff. Very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Post better directions on the hotel website on how to get to the hotel from the light rail. We arrived at 11 pm and got a bit lost.
If you want great service ... Book here! If you want to be in central London ... Look elsewhere. I stayed here for five nights. I had trouble with both my bank card and a western union transaction and they staff at Connaught was incredibly helpful in addressing the glitches of OTHER institutions. They also upgraded our room because they installed an air conditioner during the day, when we were not there. The hotel is outside central London, but we never waited more than 4 minutes for a light rail train. And we could be in central London in twenty minutes.

Fab location, excellent customer service

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Location, comfortable rooms. Amazing value for money.
Cons: We had a fan, but perhaps air con in every room, we opened the window for some air and then got loads of flies in !
Location: Easy to use DLR with access to anywhere... We went to the O2 which was just over the river !!!
Our first visit to London and the hotel was easy to find, so we arrived early and were able to check in early as the staff shuffled rooms around for us, the room was clean, well presented and comfortable. In all fairness the staff were so accommodating, NOTHING was too much trouble, they even helped us plan our journey to the O2 ! Definitely our first choice for accommodation on our next visit to the big smoke !!!

Small is Good

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Perfectly situated for the DLR, 5 minutes walk away, the hotel was very clean, very comfortable - our room had all we required. Even though the Premier Inn and Ramada hotels were a stone's throw away, we chose the Connaught for its small size and more personal nature, and we were not disappointed. Will definitely revisit and recommend.

Extremely pleasant hotel, helpful staff, wonderful bar, but the internet access is so slow that it is almost unusable.

Very convenient to LCY airport and the DLR.

Convenient to LCY airport and the DLR (Docklands Ligth Rail) line, very clean, comfortable, very nice staff, reasonable rates with a very good restaurant where we had breakfast each morning and had dinner one evening. Will definitely stay there again during our next visit to London.

Traditional hotel surrounded by modernity.

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Ambience, Comfort. Free parking. Convenience of access from the north (via M11). Proximity to Docklands Light Railway station (20 mins to Tower Hill).
Cons: Large, fixed showerhead in a small area a bit awkward for tall people. The radiator-very modern and effective but a bit difficult to control temp.
Location: A modern wasteland of roads and huge buildings. Just the exhibition centre for things to do.
Easy parking. A very comfortable room (especially the bed) in a nice old building, well modernised and decorated, a bit of an oasis in the modern brutalist surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff, quick check-in. Lots of stairs to climb! Very clean and, given its position near roads and the airport, quiet (it was a bit odd that one window had secondary glazing but the other didn't). Quite an acceptable evening meal in the restaurant. Possibly good to be on one of the higher floors, to avoid pub noises from below.

It takes only 5 minutes to Excel by walk. Nice staffs. Excellent pub. Good room facilities compared with other nearby hotels.

Great location for O2

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Restaurant was buzzing, even when we returned late from the show. Food the next morning was good.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Stayed here for a concert at the O2. Walking down to the cable car was easy & pleasant, and returning by Underground/DLR was easy too.
Efficient check in, not a lot of hassle. Nice, clean rooms. Shower was small, but hot & very clean. Overall, great room for the price!
