Good hotel, l located near the conference centre

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Position.
Cons: Its a good hotel, no problems.
Location: Close to conference centre and LCY.
The stay was enjoyable, the hotel clean and there were no problems. The restaurant was good and the staff very friendly. A little noise during the day from London city Airport was not a problem and the airport does not operate in the evenings or on Saturday/Sunday morning. The hotel is well located for transport to central London and also London city and is an easy five minute walk to the conference centre. The room was spacious and bathroom new and quite satisfactory. My only problem was that there were workmen recarpeting the floor and some dust was present in the passage, but this is a temporary issue. I recommend the hotel.

Fantastic Stay

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Good size room and very comfy bed.
Cons: I can`t fault anything about my stay.
Location: Docklands Light Railway was a 2 minute walk away, and it was a great location for Canary Wharf.
My stay was for business while I was working at Canary Wharf. The location was a 2 minute walk from the DLR station and I was in Canary Wharf in 15 minutes. The hotel was in an ideal location, easy to get where I wanted , but away from the hustle and bustle. All the staff that served me were friendly, professional and helpful. My room was extremely clean, had everything I needed and the bed was extremely comfortable.A bonus for me was that the room had air conditioning as I generally find that hotel rooms are too warm for me, but this was a perfect addition to the room.Alternatively, when the outside temperature had cooled I did open the window instead. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and everything was fresh and tasty, again the staff were really friendly and attentive.Sadly I didn`t remember that there was a pool and gym at the hotel, so I can`t comment as I didn`t use them.

Total letdown, not worth the money.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Not much. They advertise a complimentary shuttle bus to Canary Wharf in the morning and at night however on check in we were told it only runs 7-10am!
Cons: A lot. Lumpy pillows. Poor English from some of the staff. Bad service.
Location: Very picturesque but nothing is near by I.e. restaurants/bars etc.
At check in they ruined a surprise I had for my husband, two hot stone massages booked. I had been in touch with the hotel prior to our visit to confirm the massages and explained they were a surprise but the receptionist ruined that. They gave us a room with two single beds!! They did change our room after we asked. On the first night we dined in the restaurant, terrible experience! Waited twenty mins for our drinks, when they came my hubby's beer was warm, he asked for a cold one and was told no! We asked for the manager who came to see us and just moaned that he was short staffed?!? Not our fault! The waiter had to confirm our order three times! We ordered fish and chips, how is that complicated? Overall would not go back. Had to ask every day for the bottles of water in the room and the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable.

Better than Central London

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Its central location. Its outlook of the dock. good customer service and facilities.
Cons: Booking in is haphazard. there is no orderly queue, a bit of a free for all, two people jumped in front of me. A long wait and I use a walking stick.
Location: pleasant area, Excel near by, Westfield Shopping Centre 10 mins on train. Central London and Canary Wharf close by. East London University close by
The Crowne Plaza is sited in the Royal Victoria Dock. Transport links to London are superb. The Dockland Light Railway is 5 mins walk away, that will take you to Stratford International Station. where you can shop till your drop in the Westfield Centre. Which also gives access to the location pf the Olympics. Catch Jubilee Line to Central London in approx 20 mins. The Emirates Cable Cars across to North Greenwich and the O2. Excel Centre is approx 8 minutes walk away. There are several restaurants close by. or a trip over on the cable cars to the O2 give even more choice. In the very near futures the new Crossrail Station will open giving an even wider choice of travel to Central London. his is also close to Canary Wharf.

Pros: Situated just where we wanted to be
Location: Only stayed on night as we were going to see The Eagles at the 02 so didn't really explore the area.
Lovely room with great view over Docklands. Easy to get to 02 via overhead cable car just a short walk from hotel. Staff were extremely helpful .

Great hotel close to Emirates Skyline & O2

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Great location. Nice views. Helpful staff. Lovely room. Great breakfast and plenty of it.
Cons: More selection of ciders at the bar both bottled (Magners) and draft (Thatchers Gold or Strongbow).
Location: Great location for Emirate Skyline and O2 for concerts.
We stayed recently to go to an Eagles concert in the O2. I am recovering from foot surgery and have my foot in plaster so getting around by either using crutches or a wheelchair. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were given a free upgrade to a junior suite which made a huge difference. The bed was very comfortable and the room looked out over the dock which was a lovely view. There was plenty of tea, coffee, milk in the room and mugs to drink from which was good. Using the Emirates Skyline was really easy too and so convenient to the hotel, the only problem is it doesn't come back after the concert so we got a taxi which was £20. From the moment we arrived until when we left nothing was too much trouble for the staff and in particular the man on reception (sorry didn't get his name) was so helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Felt very welcome on our arrival.

Pros: The service, the space in the rooms, cleanliness.
Cons: 2nd chair would be very welcome that is the comfy one. The desk chair was not very comfortable.
Location: The O2, the emirates airline, DLR was excellent for getting around in fact an excellent experience all round.
Found David at reception very efficient and friendly. Experience was really good. Food was good and location very convenient for our purpose. Would definitely use them again.
