Excellent locationPosted Jun 29, 2015
Cons: There were things on top of the mini fridge (small box of Pringles, chocolate bar etc) and it wasn't clear whether these were complimentary or not.
Location: Brilliant location, we walked to the theatre.
Large room and quiet even though we overlooked the main road. Quiet air con as well so we were able to leave it on overnight on a very hot night. Staff very nice although check in lady had a very strong accent and I struggled to catch some of the things she said. Very comfortable bed.

very nice hotel in an excellent locationPosted Jun 22, 2015
Location: fantastic location for all the major tourist sights
we celebrated my wife's birthday here and we couldn't have picked a better place. the staff were fantastic and made us feel very special. firstly they upgraded our room then gave us a free welcome glass of campaign, then they very kindly surprised my wife with a complimentary birthday cake. I couldn't fault this hotel from the check in staff to the bar staff, everyone helped to make our weekend very special. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a fantastic weekend in a beautiful city.

Convenient location in central LondonPosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Excellent standards and quiet an comfortable room
Cons: Food was excellent but hot breakfast could be kept hotter.
Location: Visited the Shard and Tower Bridge experiences which were one stop from Soutwark satation to London Bridge.
Blackfriers station being across road allows easy access to all parts of London. The Black Friar pub across road is also excellent location for a few suitable beverages to clos out an evening in London.

Das Haus ist sein Geld wert.Posted Jun 16, 2015

Brief return to a place of memoriesPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: The comfort of the bedroom decor; the crisp-soft sheets; the comfortable bed; the quietness of the bedroom. Loads of choice for breakfast!
Cons: Some paint applied to the bedroom doors would be good. They were rather chipped from being bashed by heavy luggage.
Location: This hotel is in the historic City of London, within a short distance of St Paul's Cathedral, then over the pedestrian bridge to the South Bank.
My partner and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza on several occasions some years' ago, the last being 2006/07: this is a long time in Hotel life! Then, the restaurant to the left of the main Foyer, had a different name, and a different menu. Breakfast yesterday was pleasant, although I indulged in the Pastries, after some fruit, rather than tuck into hefty looking sausages which, I have to say, looked tepid and tired under their heat lamps, as did the tomatoes. Then the main Dining Room offered a superb dining experience under the aegis of Georgio Locatelli. On this occasion we didn't dine there, so I can't comment. Staff at breakfast were pleasant, but distant. This time a member of my family had forgotten their toothbrush, so called Reception and asked for one. On arrival, the member of staff bringing the toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste apologised for having taken so long, when it had been a short time lapse from the call to his arrival at the bedroom door. This hotel offers comfort, and a touch of luxury, for a weekend break.
