Terrible breakfast but cheap place to stay
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Breakfast was the most disappointing thing about this hotel. I understand that it is a budget hotel but I would have liked a little more than some watery orange juice and toast and cereal. It would have been nice to find some yogurts or at the very least and a couple of apples and the choice of brown bread for a healthier option. Although some of the staff were nice, the majority were less than helpful and I would have liked there to have been a secure place to leave our luggage after we checked out as we were travelling home later on in the day and all other hotels I have stayed in have had this facility. However, the room was clean and it is an ok place to stay if you are on a budget.

Happiness Hotel - Think again before you stay.
Posted Jan 1, 2013
Pros: Close location to central London.
Cons: Service and condition.
Location: Close to the Underground, within a short distance of Tower Bridge and Buckingham.
If you have ever seen the movie, "The Great Muppet Caper" you may have already seen this hotel. The doorknob on the bathroom had all screws loosened and two fell out. The lamp was plastic and completely broken. The power does not work unless your key is in the room and they only give you one key. Continental Breakfast consisted of two slices of toast, cold cereal, and tea. Hotel had one room catch a small fire and no one came to check on it or let us know what was going on. We had asked that a cab be called to pick us up the following morning to get us to the airport and they never did. All in all, not a horrid place if all you want is a hike to your room, a bed to sleep, and a toilet.

Excellent value for a quick overnight stay
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: The convenience and price!!!
Cons: Would be nice to have the option of a proper breakfast - even at extra cost.
Location: Location is very handy for access to Clapham, Brixton etc - Tube stations very close and bus routes running right past the hotel entrance.
For the money I didn't have high hopes, but it was a pleasant surprise how friendly the staff were and although basic, the facilities were absolutely perfect for a quick overnight stay. It was a great bonus being able to park the car in the small parking area and at only a tenner for a day it was added peace of mind whilst enjoying our overnight stay in London. Having read some of the reviews prior to travelling I was mildly concerned but I reckon this hotel is excellent value for money providing you aren't expecting the Ritz!!! Breakfast is a little basic, but again you cant expect much for the sort of value you are getting! (Perhaps a proper coffee machine or a jug of filter coffee would be better than a sachet of freeze dried granules though). I would definitely use the hotel again for another overnight stay - it was conveniently situated near Clapham tube station, and within 30 minutes walk of Brixton Academy (or a 5 min taxi ride at under a tenner!). All in all not bad at all!!!

Euro Clapham Common Southside
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: The breakfast was good and the location was convenient.
Cons: The wireless didn't work well and the staff was slow to respond to requests/problems.
Location: Clapham Common is a nice area with good access to buses and the underground.
The wireless internet really only worked in the lobby, not in my room. When I asked for extra towels and a blanket, it took a while for the staff to deliver them to my room. Also, there was a sewage smell in our room sometimes, and the toilet leaked and soaked the carpet one night. The shower door didn't close all the way and would get water all over the bathroom. It was located in a nice area convenient for using public transportation, and the breakfast was simple but good.

Excellent Location
Posted Jan 10, 2012
Pros: Great location, easy to access!
Cons: Breakfast wasn't as good as expected!
Great hotel in the exact location we needed, would recommend it to people that need a hotel in London for a cheap overnight stay! Considering the hotel is close to such a busy road, our room was silent and we both slept very well.

If I hadn't had business in the area I wouldn't have stayed at that hotel at all, the service was really bad the room they gave me wasnt what I booked online, I will never stay there again and I wouldn't re commend it to anyone

Bin bag under the sheet
Posted Jan 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Never before have I stayed in a "hotel" where it was deemed to be necessary to place a black bin bag under the bottom sheet! That was just so gross. The room was in a basement, small, cramped and smelled of damp. The other guests were very noisy until about 3am. It was horrible - don't go there

Good for the Price

You pay for what you get and this hotel is no exception but the bedroom was very clean and comfortable and the ensuite brand new. Just a shame about the corridors (decorating seems to be ongoing - for what seems to be quite a few years!) and the extremely basic breakfast. Ideal simply as an overnight base.
