4 Days in London

Posted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we arrived to the hotel, it looked nice, the location was only 2 short blocks from the tube, great. When we checked in, there was a smell of bug spray near registration. That made me feel uncomfortable. I worry about bed bugs and bugs in general. So I did not unpack my luggage and made sure it was zipped up during my entire trip. Also, their was one lady, a short spanish lady, who was so rude. Perhaps she could not speak English, but I feel she could still smile. We ran into her at breakfast not a smile, a hello and anything. She made our stay at this hotel,,out of all our hotel stays..the most memorable because of her personality, or lack of.

Great location and price

Posted Sep 22, 2013
I stayed for a week...I was traveling on a budget and this hotel delivered! It was clean and in a great location, just a 2 minute walk to shops, cafes, and the Clapham South tube stop. I would agree with other travelers regarding temperature limitations and wouldn't stay here in the really hot and humid months, but it was perfect for the early fall weather. One word of caution, don't count I. Wifi availability...it was great when there were fewer guests but once the weekend guests came, it was poor availability, which meant using data roaming which it costly internationally. But a GREAT value overall, small but comfortable rooms and nice staff and EXCELLENT location!

tiny!

The room was tiny - pretty much a bed and no room for anything else. The bathroom was so small you could not use it with the door closed. Not dirty, but a bit dingy.

A great stay for London. Close to an underground station and shops. Would stay here again if ever in London.

Not bad, unless it's hot.

The staff were pretty nice. They helped with just about any request I had, and the wifi was good. The room was pretty narrow, but it had a decent bathroom and you're staying in London so you kind of get what you're paying for. The only thing that really sucks is when it is over 80 degrees, the room gets very very hot. You only have a small window, that only opens a tiny bit, and a fan to blow around hot air. AC would be really nice. I'd rather pay for breakfast and have AC than have a small free breakfast with no AC in the summer (when mot of their clients will actually be staying with them).

Pros: Location
Cons: The actual hotel
Location: Great
Positives- good location. Very close to clapham south tube station Negatives-no lift in hotel, had to carry own luggage all the way to the top floor, bathroom was not very clean, hotel also states it has a carpark but can barely fit 3 cars

Decent enough

Posted Jul 7, 2013
Location: 2 mins from Clapham South station, which is very convenient. On a main road, but not too noisy.
Pretty dated hotel, but room was clean enough, quiet & staff were very friendly. Very good location. Breakfast was very basic!

Never Again

Posted Jul 3, 2013
Pros: LEaving
Cons: Everything
Location: Convenient to the Underground
The room was so small that it was difficult walking around the bed once my two pieces of luggage were in the room. The room was stuffy and had no outside facing windows. The only windows in the room faced in a storage room. The description said that the room had climate control. If an oscillating fan mounted on the wall counts then it did. The key card never reliably worked. I had to have the desk reactivate the card numerous times. Also the room and furniture looked as though they were fifty years old and had never been refurbished. Also, the night staff was rude and very confrontational when I had to have the key card reactivated. Overall, while clean and affordable I would not recommend this hotel.
