“Loved London”
Hotel room was an apartment suite, plenty of room. Bed was very comfortable, cleaning staff was great. Front desk always staffed, very knowledgeable and helpful. Laundry service was excellent! Neighborhood is full of shops, pubs, restaurants, all within 5 minute walk of hotel. Bayswater tube station 10 minutes walk giving you complete access to all of London. The #70 bus comes through hotel neighborhood and links to other buses to get you all over London as well. Also, around the corned on Moscow street is the Phoenix Pub, my favorite watering hole!
“Excellent and economical”
This hotel was better than I expected based on other reviews I read before booking. It was Economical, Clean, Well Staffed and A Very Convenient Location. Other reviews mentioned problems with the laundry service. That has been fixed. Other reviews mentioned dated carpets and furnishings, get over it, it's economical, you can't expect champagne on a beer budget. It was all clean quite nice enough. The location was just a short walk from two 'Underground' stations, convenient shopping and great wonderful dining. The neighborhood was pleasant, quiet and culturally diverse. If I had to complain about something I would have to say it has no air conditioning, but it was only hot the day we arrived and after that an open window was all that was needed. Other reviews mentioned that the breakfast was expensive and not worth it so we never tried it. The kitchenette was quite sufficient and we ate in most mornings. That is why we chose this kind of hotel, to save on eating expenses. We ate dinner out often, but we also ate in allot with groceries from the three close by grocery stores. I would definitely return to this hotel. My family of four (we had two rooms) and I were very happy there and quite comfortable.
“Worked well for our needs”
The room was small and was warm but for what little time we spent in the romm it worked well for our needs. The location was GREAT, close to two tube stations and had shops, pubs and food very close by. We would go back there again.
“London Cost-effective Hotel”
I have spent a week with family of 4, including 2 young children. Excellent central Location. Underground stations nearby. Very good neighborhood, local stores and reasonable restaurantes. The apartments are well maintained and clean. Very convenient for both long or short stays.
“Recent”
Very disappointed. Amazingly rude staff. The room was dirty. The cost was much more than some 5 star alternatives. I would never stay there unless there was no other option. Sorry Grand Plaza and Expedia but this expensive experiment was a massive fail.
“Great Location & Great Service”
Hotel location was excellent and the hotel staff was very helpful, but the place could use new carpeting and paint to give it a newer look. The rooms overall were fine and the right size for our family of 5.
“Great location, but room somewhat lacking”
The location is excellent near the very convenient Bayswater, Queensway, and Notting Hill Tube Stations. It's also a short walk to Kensington Palace and Gardens. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems with the actual room. First of all, there is a laundry room in the basement with only a single working washing machine and nearly half a dozen out of order machines. The room is filled with very small home washing machine units as opposed to industrial units and so it is no surprise that they quickly break down. In this room there were many long faces sitting on chairs waiting and telling tales of woe and lost vacation days waiting for a chance with the one working machine. The staff were not surprised by the situation and mentioned that the owner is trying to decide whether to pay for more repairs or buy proper equipment. The breakfast was horrible and overpriced. Stop at any of the pubs or shops just outside the front door for a much better meal at half the price. It's served in a tiny room with too many tables and a TV blaring british talk shows. Another annoying thing about the hotel is the fact that the very slow elevators are constantly being used by the staff for taking loads of sheets and towels down to another level for cleaning. They have a separate service elevator, but for some reason they always use the main guest elevators instead. That said, the reception staff are usually quite nice, as are all of the service staff.
“Good deal,good location,outstanding friendly staff!”
My wife and daughter andI stayed at GP for five nights. We were impressed with the location and room for the money we spent. The GP is just minuits away from several tube stops. While we were out we were replenished with fresh towels and the room was cleaned every day. The staff were helpful, and curtious. I was surprised to find free laundry machines on site. The only problem we had the entire time was intermitent wifi access which was eliminated by the concierge who provided a cable for internet connection. All in all a great value for our money. Cheers, Robert Carmichael
“Good location but dated.”
Good location, small rooms and somewhat dirty and dated. Had access to a small park next to the hotel and some large parks nearby.
“convenient of hotel location”
Is convenient apartmet. In room expedia`s picture apear more big. When you go to your room is difficul to get it. Stairs down, stairs up, and do not have baggage facilities. You must carrie it. With ramps, can resolve this problem.
