Very nice hotel in City

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Arrived late, received an upgrade to executive room on the 10th floor, with a view over the Tower Bridge. Excellent!

Great location. Right by the tower, pubs and subw

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Room size
Cons: Nothing
Location: Across the street from the tower, hop on hop off bus stop, pubs aplenty and the tube was right there. No noise and the room was excellent
Great service. Staff was very helpful. Room was excellent . There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room

Nice weekend

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Clean , excellent service from front of house to room service , All staff friendly , and happy to help
Cons: Drink price , no happy hour or offers , A few nibbles on the table as our round of drinks came to over y£40/50 per order
Location: Near to most things very central tube , taxi , and local bars
Staff are friendly and polite , Drinks are a little expensive with the hotel surcharge on. Room was fab , found £23.00 plus a surcharge again for breakfast to expensive , Lots of better priced food outlets near by , on St Catharines Dock , But overall pool was very nice , , Would return again , Happy experience ,

Excellent location but lacking in care.

Pros: Its location to the tube and Dlr stations, and also to The Tower and surrounding area.
Cons: Staff efficiency and customer importance.
Location: Excellent for Tower of London and Tower Bridge, plus the City, Monument and St Pauls.
A weekend stay to meet with my daughter who is at University in London. Booked The Grange City for it's location and was not disappointed. With everything else, I was. Checked in at 2pm only to be told room was not available, then it was! Room was pleasant and clean but overlooked Fenchurch Street Station. We could actually look in to the trains and see the passengers! Fortunately, we heard no noise from them. Once inside the room, we had to ring house keeping for the complimentary water, then for towels, then for tea bags and finally for robe and slippers which are advertised on the web site but apparently must be "requested" which we were never informed about. Breakfast is £23.00 but we declined. Unless you are a big eater you will never get the full value. The final insult was when we checked out. The young man behind the desk took our keys, threw them to the side and said "That's it, anything else?" Not " have you enjoyed your stay" or " thank you for staying". I found this extremely rude and impersonal.

A touch of class at an affordable price

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Pros: Touches like a doorman and porters to carry your bags give that traditional and classy feel. Also, the concierge was extremely helpful.
Cons: WiFi could be available in all rooms in the hotel.
Location: Right on top of The Tower of London!
We were made to feel welcomed and treated very well by all the staff. Our room was functional and small but comfortable. Unfortunately the WiFi didn't work from our room. We had to use the concierge to find out best routes around London and good restaurants etc. who was extremely helpful.

Perfect location for site seeing. Nice hotel.

We had a nice stay at the City Grange Hotel on 31st October. We were upgraded to a family size room (not sure why) on check-in. There were two double beds in a huge room, a comfortable sleep but we ended up sleeping in seperate beds as too small for us in one which wasn't ideal as it was our anniversary. Bit disappointed as I did request a king size bed on booking.

Excellent staff.

Pros: Staff.
Cons: Maybe a renovation.
Location: Great location near Tower Bridge and The City.
I used to stay at this hotel ten years ago whenever I stayed in the City. It is showing its signs of age a bit, but is still a good hotel. What makes a good hotel though are the staff. I had to change my room due to a noisy extractor fan outside the window, and the Duty Manager could not do enough to find me another room which I liked. I really appreciate this superior customer service.

Great hotel but.,,

My expectations of hair dryers in hotels are very low but to have your hair dryer tethered to a nightstand, no where near a mirror, with maybe 2ft of cord, so short you have to sit on the floor to dry your hair, on a Monday morning, with the price I paid per night is unacceptable.
