Great hotel, great location

Posted Jul 27, 2015
You can be anywhere in London in 30 minutes. The hotel is lovely, as is the staff. A nice amenity was the hospitality room on each floor with tea, coffee, cake and fruit. The lattes were very good. Best part is sitting in the outdoor bar watching the travelers go by on the street.

文句なし!ロケーションも良くて綺麗なホテルです。

Posted Jul 23, 2015
本当に駅の目の前でロケーションは最高です。とても清潔で、お菓子やお茶のコーナーもありました。部屋が広くないのですが、これもあまり気にならなかったです。Wi-Fi環境もいいし、夜1時まであいているバーもあってよかったです。

Convenient for Eurostar Travellers

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Convenient for the Eurostar terminal. Comfortable room and good facitilities
Cons: Bouncer could be more polite
Our experience at the hotel was a pleasant one and the staff were very good with the exception of the 'bouncer' who will need a course in customer service. Otherwise I would recommend the hotel for a stay especially if you are travelling on Eurostar early morning departures. The only other down side is the hugely experience restaurant connected with the hotel .

Great hotel, Perfect Junction Point

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Its location could not be better. Superb restaurant. The design of the hotel. All the staff.
Cons: East facing rooms in the summer--the sun pours in at 4:30 AM! Even the blinds and curtains were not enough!
Location: British Library is nearby. Judd Street Bookstore, restaurants, St. Pancras Station. Tube and train lines. All of Europe.
Great Northern Hotel is at the junction of tube and train lines at St. Pancras Station, so it is great for being in transit; next to the British Library, so that is a plus. The staff are pleasant and the restaurant in the hotel, Plum and Split Milk, was remarkably good--well deserving of the praise. The room I had, while compact, was architecturally well-designed, making the most of the space. (Anyone wishing to remodel an old hotel would be well-advised to visit GNH.) The hotel is intimate from the front desk to the restaurant and bars, to the rooms (a pantry is at the end of each hall) and, most importantly, the staff. Each room has thoughtfully provided amenities. Anyone travelling for business, in transit, or couples would find this hotel well-worth the stay.

Central location with excelle transport links

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Finally had the opportunity to experience the Great Northern Hotel after its refurbishment. I was really impressed with the quality of the fixtures, fittings and decorative scheme - certainly one of the most comfortable, welcoming and homely luxury hotels in which I have stayed. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast, with unobtrusive service. Reception was very efficient at check-in, check-out and during my stay. In particular, given the proximity to Kings Cross and Dt Pancras, the left luggage facility was highly appreciated. That being said, there a one or two small snags that are easily rectified. First, I am very much opposed to the relentless drive towards informality in terms of the staff uniform policy in the restaurant trade generally. I believe that 'jeans' are inappropriate in Plum+Spilt Milk and detract from the high standard of presentation and turn-out of the other public-facing staff at the hotel (suit and tie, etc.). Second, provision should be made in the room for tea-making by guests, in addition to the pre-existing espresso machines. Whilst the pantry concept on each floor is innovative and was highly enjoyable, it should not be treated as an adequate replacement for a basic in-room amenity. That being said, I would definitely stay here again.

Very impressed!

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: We particularly liked the pantry!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was lovely and the only reason we have rated the room 4 for comfort is because we found it a bit too warm during the night. The lowest setting on the air conditioning was 19 degrees which, for us, wasn't cool enough for comfort. Other than that the hotel was perfect. We were very impressed with the pantry on each floor which was kept well stocked with tea, coffee, cake, chocolate biscuits, sweets, fruit and newspapers - all at no extra charge! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is next to Kings Cross which made it very easy to get around. When we next visit London we will be happy to stay here again.

Great location and nice hotel.

Posted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: Modern, everything worked perfectly. Room (even on low floor) was very quiet.
Location: Right at train stations (s) so lots to do nearby and easy to get anywhere else.
There on business for short stay. No trouble recommending hotel. Rooms were great, staff was fantastic, nice restaurant and bar. Right at the train station, tons of cabs outside. I'd definitely stay again.
