The room was much too hot on our arrival. There was almost no toilet papir and almost no shampoo etc. in the bathroom - and no Kleenex.

Read the reviews after I booked which is unusual, found out the hotel was closing in Dec so feared the worse. Don't listen to the poor reviews about staff and facilities, it was excellent. Cheap for the area, free parking (unlike the nearby Holiday Inn £12!!) and the bed was so comfy.

Unfortunately, this unique partly nationally registered property has been sold for development. So staff is leaving, maintenance deferred, and amenities ( no evening meals in dining room, reduced breakfast options) are being reduced. A shame that the unlisted wings are to be torn down and replaced by new construction to convert the site to an aging care facility. We need more care options, although it's too bad this old gem will be sacrificed.

Although the hotel was clean and warm it is sadly in need of a makeover as the reception and public areas are very drab. Although there were bar meals available a hotel of that stature should have a restaurant

Hotel is closing down. No restaurant at night meaning our whole plans had to change. Would have been nice to know. Also the bathroom was really bad.

Lovely hotel but noisy room
The hotel, the room, the service and the food was very good. However, we were staying in Room 224 which was right next to the staff room and stairs. This meant it was very noisy, with the door banging and the staff walking up the stairs a lot. As a result we didn’t get much sleep at all. This was our 4th stay there, and it won’t put us off, but we will in the future specifically refuse room 224.

Excellent choice for our family visiting London.
Our family were made most comfortable and the advantage to us was that the hotel is near our London flat. Will definitely use again.

Good for our needs.
Both the hotel and room was pleasing on first review. Plus points, comfy bed and pretty quiet given the proximity to the A41. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Negative points, mirror positioned poorly above table so hard for my lady to use when getting ready (too high), dirty, rusty bin in the bathroom and the shower was useless. Had to pose like Spider-Man and almost press myself against the wall to enable the water to hit my body. No pressure at all!! Reception staff seemed unconcerned when I mentioned it upon checking out.

Faded elegance
I had booked to attend a family event in North London. The best feature is the convenient location and ample free parking. The stafff were unfailingly polite and helpful. The room was disappointing in that the carpet was dingy. The mattress had a big ridge down the middle and Ive had better at Premier Inn. Overcame this with an extra duvet to lie in and one over the top. The rooms have the usual non-feminine friendly layout in that there is NOWHERE with a socket one can use for a hairdryer close to a mirror so you can wash and blowdry your own hair, or use tongs for that matter. Usual facilities for gents shaving in bathroom is of course, standard. No hairdryer in room. The wall lights are too high to be suitable for reading in bed. The sockets are close to the TV and DVD player, but not the miror. This doesnt help because the control is rubbish and unworkable- maybe check the batteries occasionally or get different ones. Sadly the management have decide to end room service. In the past this was one of the advantages of this hotel. Snacks out of hours have to be collected from the bar. Not the same as ordering pudding or an Irish coffee while watching TV. The breakfast is nice enough with all the usual goodies.

I know that many of the Handpicked Hotels that have been or are going through renovations are adding in more electric sockets, my apologies there was no hairdryer, this is a standard product and should have been in one of the drawers, our Duty manger team would have been happy to bring one up to you . I am sorry that our Restaurant and Room Service operations is no longer, we had to make some changes based on both demand and a reduced team in light of the hotel closing on December 23rd of this year.The team do try there best to deliver where time permits. Good stay but the old lady was tired!
Stay at Hendon Hall was good value but property is definitely at the end of useful life. That said the beds were good and the breakfast staff friendly and professional.

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
We booked Hendon Hall Hotel when searching for a hotel that was near to Wembley. Although only 4 miles from Wembley to get the tube we would have had to have a 20 minute walk and catch a tube into central London and then a tube back out to Wembley Park. We therefore decided to just get a taxi which actually defeated the whole point of staying here as we wanted to make the trip to Wembley as cheap as possible, The hotel itself though was lovely, the staff were really friendly and helpful. It stated on a couple of other sites that the hotel had a swimming pool but this has not been updated as there is no pool so this was quite misleading information which the receptionist was going to amend. Overall a lovely hotel but would not choose to stay here again in the future due to the location.

Old hotel in suburban London
Interesting old building with garden and terrace in suburban area of North London. Room was fairly compact and a little bit tired, but clean and adequate. Mood choice at breakfast. Helpful staff.

Could be better
Booking in slow, desk empty at 7pm. Check out similar, without much interaction. Burger bun was microwaved so like a rock. Room was clean and in excellent order. Bar staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Great location, ample parking and a good price. Overall a 'good'

Hotel in London
Hotel has been sold and is closing before Christmas. The staff were lovely and friendly and welcoming. The place feels sad and needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to 21st century standards. It has a fascinating history. It is a shame it is no longer going to be operating. Still, it was busy despite this. The building itself is striking - the frontage is iconic. We got upgraded to a better room which was a nice touch. It was memorable - in a good way.

Wonderful experience at Hendon Hall Hotel
The staff were exceptionally helpful both in Reception every day so different staff, in the bar, and at breakfast. Every staff member we came into contact with was helpful and kind, . Our room was spacious and clean and really comfortable. We had a lovely stay and.look forward to next time.

It is very unfortunate that Hendon Hall is about to close as it has been an excellent hotel. It is quiet, spacious, clean and atmospheric and the staff are helpful and friendly..

My visit to the hotel was very satisfying. The hotel was very beautiful,and so was the room (albeit it was a tad small). It gave off a nice homey feeling, especially when you consider the lovely view from the room and the garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was kept clean and there wasn't any noise that disturbed me. Unfortunately the restaurant for lunch got closed before my arrival so I can't comment on it, but they're still serving breakfast (which was tasty) and you can order food as room service for lunch (and afterwards) in the lounge diner. Overall I was very happy and I'd definitely consider staying there again next time I'd be in London.

Nice stay
Stayed here for one night, didn’t check in while 8.45pm as we had been shopping and drinking in London with family. The only disappointment was that we were hoping for food but they didn’t have anything open so we had to resort to ordering a pizza. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was a good selection of cereal, pastries and hot food. Would definitely stay again

First staff encountered was not professional. The rest of the team including the manager and Expedia helped me but after I got stressed out in the first night. She checked-me-in the in the wrong room, because people in the hotel decided to extend their stay last minute, while I was waiting in the reception to be checked-in. Priority should be for the person booked long time ago (me) not for the person decide last minute( the one staying in the room I am supposed to be checked-in). She also checked-in other people came after me while I was waiting, she said they are "frequent costumers". more important than me. She said they have important matter, a wedding. but when I shared that I had a serious health condition, she laugh and rolled her eyes suggesting that the wedding is more important than my health condition. I had to accept the wrong room because it was getting late and I needed to be in the hospital early morning. I was tired, stressed mentally and physically by the treatment and the results of this staff. The other hotel staff are wonderful including the manager and Expedia too. They helped me move my room in another day. The hotel facility and staff are very nice, except one person.

Shame Handpicked Hotels have let this hotel go
We’ve stayed here many times over the years but unfortunately with the hotel closing at the end of the year the standards of the hotel have slipped. The hotel looks very tired and shabby and The owners should just Close it instead of it going like this. Then staff did are doing their best under difficult circumstances. I feel the owners have let their Staff down.

Fantastic
Great hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was really good. Only gripe was i went to the lounge bar twice to try and order food but both times no one was there...i ended up going out to get takeaway. Other than that its a lovely little haven with beautiful gardens

One night stay
My family and I stayed for one night for my graduation. I was pleasently surprised when I entered a fantastic huge room with a four poster bed, large bathroom and steps up to the window- it was a lovely room. However, whilst my room was lovely, my family’s room (3 people) was very small and rather dingy in appearance, being on the main landing you could hear people walking up and down the stairs constantly. While my room was definitely worth the money I paid, theirs was not. Breakfast was fantastic though!

overall a nice hotel. Not sure though if it is about to be refurbished or changing hands, had a feel of things being limited, limited food, no draft beer. saying that breakfast was excellent, room was very comfy and staff happily moved me when air con malfunctioned. nice gardens. staff were very helpful.
