“reazonable”
for business purpose is perfect
“Not satisfied”
The most terrible thing was shower. I set the degree the hottest, like 60C, but that was not hot enough and I caught cold. We could not watch TV clearly though I don't know the reason. We booked queen bed room, but the bed was just "two single beds," so We could not sleep comfortably. At the first day, the room-keeper took our face wash. The location was OK. Very near from the station and there are three supermarket around the hotel.
“Good quality hotel in the center of London”
Good hotel in the center of London with 10 min walk to Marble Arch
“Central and clean”
This hotel has all you need when you stay in London. It is close to the Heathrow express and close to Hyde Park. The service is good and the rooms are not bad at all. And they were always really clean.
“what a great time”
We had a wonderful time in London, everything about the hotel was great.
“Disappointed”
We have stayed at the Hilton Metropole every year for the past 5 years. We have always enjoyed the hotel...but this trip was very disappointing. The wait in line for the check-in desk and concierge was always long. Unfortunately, we had to wait in these lines multiple times because our room smelled like rotten eggs when we got to it. They did switch our room right away, which was good...and the new room did not smell. However, the problem with this hotel was the long lines. We had to wait in long lines multiple times...when we checked in, when we had to get a new room, when we went to breakfast, and when there was a problem with our room service. By long lines, I mean 20-30 minutes. The hotel is fine and adequate...but they really need to hire more people to keep the lines down.
“Small bed”
Hotel well placed in London and is close to train and subway stations. Major if only complaint is my room was small and my bed was very small. Restaurant food was good if expensive but the selections were excellent. Staff was very friendly and the service was fast. I will stay there again when I go back.
“Good hotel, very close to Underground”
Room was very nice, albeit a bit small but it is to be expected in London center. We could see the hotel from the tube station, it was so close. It is just north of Hyde Park so you could walk from the hotel to the center (Buckingham Palace) in about 30 minutes. Not much variety of restaurants in the area besides Middle Eastern (although we had a nice Lebanese dinner). Breakfast buffet in hotel was pretty standard stuff, although I will say the staff were very attentive and friendly - more so than in other places. Also, we stayed late in the sports bar watching a game one night and the staff let us stay until after closing to see the end.
“Unpleasantly surprised, and believe me, I'm not a complainer!”
I have written some reviews of hotels in the past, and I always defended them from bad reviews, because some people book 2-star hotels and expect Hyatt quality! Only this time I have to write something pretty bad. First of all, it's not in the kind of neighborhood you expect to find a Hilton. I had learned in England we can't control room temperature, but that in my room was set so low, the first 2 nights I put on whatever I had ( sweater, long socks..) and covered myself completely with the comforter, and I was still shivering. After 2 days I had enough and asked at the front desk if it was possible to do something and they said yes, and sent a maintenance guy to my room. He took the temperature of the cold air coming in from near the ceiling and agreed it was too cold, and adjusted it. If you find yourself in the same situation, don't hesitate to ask! The room was very small. I had a king-size bed with two mattresses put together and there was a ridge at the center. I could live with that. I tried to take a hot shower on the first night, and the water was tepid. I could never live with that! ( Later I found out I could get hotter water for the bathtub ) The room looked very old and ready for complete renovation. The ultimate was that in order to check in and print my boarding pass, I was asked to buy a ticket to get on internet for 15 minutes. My advise is if you decide to stay here, never expect the quality and service you get at a Hilton hotel in the U.S..
“Good Business Hotel”
Hotel was fine. It is, however, basically a business hotel located in a business neighborhood. It was very conveniently located near the underground but in the evening the local streets were eerily empty. I would not have wanted to be out alone at night in the area. When our adult daughter went out at night with friends, we had her take a taxi back to the hotel. During the day there were plenty of people but not in the evening.
