Pros: Location
Cons: Room comfort, especially heating.
Location: Edgware Road. Fairly central with easy access to the West End and beyond.
Very pleasant reception staff. Room layout was strange, at one end of the tower I think. Room was very cold and heating system was very poor. I wore my coat whilst working in the room. Didn't put my Do Not Disturb sign outside but was still very annoyed when housekeeping staff knocked and then opened the door at precisely 8:00am and again at 10:00am. Went to the coffee bar counter and was charged £3.75 for a glass of coke PLUS a 12.5% service charge; what service? £15.00 for wifi is a bit steep. The hotel is large, smart, and well located but you know you're in a Hilton by the price of incidentals.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The wifi reception and the staff attitude.
Location: Nothing of note.
There was no Wifi reception but they refused to acknowledge it. I had to go to Starbucks to work on my computer. The staff was offensively indifferent, almost aggressive in there assurance that it was my problem. I called the service desk 8 times and got zero help. Then I had "unusual" requests for multiple male staff to enter my room.....as though they were attempting to intimidate. I left the hotel without finishing my stay. I would caution people not to stay there.

Appalling Service

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: The room was nice when I was finally able to gain access
Waited over an hour to check in at around 7pm to then be told that my room will not be ready for another hour, was given free drinks at the bar. The service at the bar was equally poor, even though it was not busy it took around 15 minutes to receive my drink after I had chased it up twice. The hotel is very nice, good rooms but for the price of over £200 the service is simply the worse I have ever experienced in many years. It was taking staff at least 20 minutes to check anyone in. Something needs to be done as the poor service overrides what is a very nice hotel

Good nights' sleep, but I expected better

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff, and a good night's sleep!
Cons: Could do with an all around refresher, to bring it up to the standard of the lobby area and bars!
I wasn't expecting a huge room with the hotel being in Central London, but I was disappointed that the condition of it wasn't as good as I thought a Hilton should be! The cupboard door wasn't on straight, the light in the bathroom took ages to come on (you could nearly be finished by the time it lit properly), some of the wallpaper had been scuffed off, the tiles were a bit grubby and there were only 2 sockets in the room as far as I could find!! We slept well as the room was very quiet, and the staff were friendly when we checked in. The location is spot on as well, being so close to London Zoo, Madame Tussaud's and Regents Park, as well as several tube and rail stations. Just a shame that it doesn't live up to the standard I expected from the name (especially when it costs what it does!)

Huge hotel that's modern & clean - kids loved the pool which being 1/2 term was busy. Great breakfast & kids under 10 ate free at diner.

A week at the London Metropole

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff and the amenities.
Cons: Honestly, nothing.
Location: The location is excellent. Hyde Park and Oxford Street are a 10 minute walk away. Paddington Station and Edgware Road station are within this distance
The location is very convenient for visiting just about anywhere in London. It is close to Paddington station and therefore the Heathrow Express. Hyde Park and Oxford Street are a 10 minute walk away. The staff are very friendly and considerate to children. It has all the facilities you could want to cater for all. Other reviews I read were not happy about the check process taking too long but we did not experience this. There is an express check out service available which negates this anyway.
