Overall was very pleased with my stay, stayed for one night, with easy access to the tube station. Only down side was the bar's drinks are very overpriced. Other than that was a very good experience

Satisfactory

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Breakfast and Location
Cons: Processing of guests at check in. Refurbishment and upgrade of older rooms
I have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions, my latest stay was fine, but somewhat disappointing. The common areas are undergoing refurbishment which was not in itself a major issue, but does blight the overall experience and it was not mentioned before arrival and certainly wasn't reflected in the price of the room. After a long day and a delayed flight i had a long wait of about 20mins to check in, but staff were doing their best to process everyone as quickly as possible. I had an older room on the 15th floor which was clean and acceptable but it was dated and cold, not the usual Hilton Experience. In the morning there was a queue for breakfast but it moved quickly as friendly and efficent staff ushered guests to available tables. Breakfast was very good.

OK by European Standards

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: It was close to 2 Tube stations. It actually had a room with 3 twin beds (family room).
Cons: They were working on the lobby area. The bathroom was tiny and needed updating. Terrible hair dryer! Also a nasty mini fridge with left over food.
Location: Have no idea what was nearby (except the 2 Tube stations) and a Marks & Spencer. Didn't seem to be a great area.
We were in the Hilton Honors line and it was much shorter than the regular line. We were helped by a lovely staff member. There was a booking error with our room and it took a few minutes to clear up. The young lady who checked us in was kind enough to comp the wifi charge to compensate for our trouble. She also was able to get us early check in and late check out. She was honest and mentioned that there would be construction noise if we took the room that was ready, we did take it and the noise was fine. The maids that came SUPER early the next morning were much more noisy, slamming the door to the room next door repeatedly and talking loudly. The lobby area was modern and clean, very inviting. There was construction, but it was well managed. The room that we were in seemed to be in need of updating, but did have 3 twin beds. I imaging it connected to a room with a queen or king size bed...perfect for a family. As I was traveling with my 2 teenage sons, it was perfect. The bathroom was tiny and there was an awkward situation with the door only opening partially and banging into a closet door, but it was ok for a night or two. We did open the mini fridge (another plus) to store some water and found a wedge of partially eaten cheese and some milk that didn't smell so good. We called housekeeping and they said they would send someone up to clean it out, but they never did. Other than that, the room was clean. Neighborhood not so great. Not a lot there.

OK But Not Special

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: The bed.
Cons: Expensive Internet, mini bar.
Location: Fairly central but need to use the Underground to reach visitor attractions.
The Hilton Metropole is in a pretty good location for many things in London especially and it is across the road from Edgeware Road Tube station. Our room (a King) had a nice big comfortable bed and was very clean. The main 'view' though was straight into a wall. There was a view of the City if you looked diagonally out of the window. The hotel charges Internet access on a 24 hour basis even if you only want 5 minutes - ridiculous now, and a pet hate of mine. The mini bar is also one of those that if you move anything, you get charged. This is another pet hate of mine, especially when all I want is a bit of space to cool some drinking water. The hotel has a pool, but it seems that most of the time booking a time slot is required, as it is pretty small for the size of hotel (huge). On balance I can only rate the hotel as 'ok' and probably not really up to most perople's expectation of a Hilton.

Bra standard men väldigt hårda sängar

Posted Feb 22, 2015
