Convenient for us

Posted Aug 21, 2014
This was a pleasant hotel, nicely updated bathroom, comfortable bed. A little cramped since room was small and there were 4 of us. No closet for the clothes or cases. The location was very convenient for us since we were visiting family in Wimbledon. It would not be convenient if you wanted to spend your days in downtown London - a 30 minute ride on the underground. On the other hand, the underground station was right across the street. For the price this was certainly a great deal compared to other options in London (at the time that I booked), which is why I would recommend it to others and would go there again myself.

Nice budget friendly hotel. Had a problem with the AC first couple of nights. They moved us to another room and it was fine. Noisy at night on the street side of the hotel... request a room on the back side of the hotel. Nice breakfast buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage, beans, toast, sweets, etc... Right across the street from a Tube Station and Bus Stops. BIG CHALLENGE!! If leaving for a day in London either get on the Tube very early (7:30amish) or after 9:00am. The in-between times is when everyone is jumping on to go to work in London. Extremely crowded. If you're clostraphobic (sp) don't ride during this time. Lastly, the hotel was a good stay, but if I had to do it again, I wouldn't stay so far out of downtown London. It's a :30 ride one way and the ride got old after several trips. Spend a bit more and stay closer in to the center of London where all the attractions are. Great Staff. Very nice and helpful.

"secret" booking

Posted Jul 9, 2014
The "secret" booking was only a little cheaper than ordinary booking. The Hotel was quite a way from Wimbledon, I walked for 32 mins to and from the town!!! Staff were very polite and the room looked quite clean until you looked closer. A bit of TLC needed on the skirting boards and in the shower tray!! Overall, an ok stay.

May be better choices for Business

Location of the hotel was great. Colliers Wood Tube stop is a bit out of town but seems to work pretty well for getting around. Biggest issue is the internet was not reliable. The system never remembered my devices and had to log in over and over. They had a "fix" that seemed to help a bit, but this is a hotel in a major hotel chain. They have the resources needed to make this work.

My room was a bit noisy facing the main road but it's very convenient to collies wood tube. Standard Holiday Inn Express facilities including free breakfast.

Easter weekend breakfast was very crowded. Pleasant staff. Room a little small by US standards but fine.

Overall a nice hotel.

Cons: The bread toaster should put at more remote places within the dining area so that people queueing for toasting won't congest the food area.
Overall good experience. The manager we meet on 1st day breakfast is a bit rude and rushing us while we selecting food.

Excellent hotel, fantastic staff, superb location

The hotel is modern and clean and feels very new. The room was spacious and also clean. The hotel itself is in a great location, the Colliers Wood tube station is literally across the road. There is an upmarket pub next door, an Indian restaurant and other amenities around the hotel. The team working at the hotel were friendly, kind and helpful. Stand-out service, I have sent an email to the management to thank them, really great stay, great value, really recommend.
