CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: SO FRIENDLY, WE DID NOT FEEL INTIMIDATED AT ALL BEING SO FAR AWAY FROM HOME.
Cons: NOTHING FOR THE EXCELLENT PRICE YOU PAY
Location: ONLY 10 MINS FROM THE TRAIN STATION, COVENT GARDENS ONLY 5 MINS AWAY, NEAR THE BRITISH WAR MUSEUM
WE WERE GREETED WITH A HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE FRONT DESK, SHOWN TO OUR ROOM AND PRESENTED WITH A BASKET OF FRUIT AND A HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD! BREAKFAST WAS EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED FROM COOKED TO CONTINENTAL, CEREAL TO CAKE, COLD ICE TEA WAS THERE TO HELP YOURSELF TO EVERYDAY. EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF WAS DELIGHTFUL! WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK TO SUCH A CLEAN AND FRIENDLY HOTEL!

Location! Location! LocationPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Power adapters available at no charge.
Cons: Inclusive Wi-fi access (expensive options). Breakfast is a surcharge. No onsite or included gym/fitness facilities (across the street).
Location: 150m from Russell Square tube. Across the street from a well rated Gastro-pub (Marquis Cornwallis). 15-20 mins walk to British Museum, Royal Opera.
If you're looking to stay at an all inclusive resort, this is not the hotel to go to. If you're looking to experience London at a chic, upscale, intimate location with edgy, trendy and modern decor and facilities, this is not the hotel to go to. If you're looking for a decent room, in a great location, minutes from the tube, and around the corner from the British Museum, with easy walking distance to great dining, at a reasonable price, then consider the Holiday Inn at the Bloomsbury location. Expedia pricing was half the drop-in rate posted at the hotel (419GBP / night for a standard room). The rooms are small by North American standards, with small double beds vs. dual Queens, but this is fairly standard for a basic room in London and other parts of Europe. The beds were comfortable, but box springs, and other furniture did show some age (scratches, wear marks on edges, glued repairs, etc). The hotel is fairly no frills - no gym, no breakfast included (but restaurant on site did offer a discount meal package with stay), wifi is a fairly expensive add-on (British Telecom offers a wifi package at a hotel accessible hotspot, which allows you off-hotel wifi access at a number of locations as well as the hotel). Power adapters are available at no charge (to charge electronics - but bring your own cables).

Changed locations to this hotel for better sleep!Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, great location, easy access to shopping and restaurants. Very comfortable and quiet rooms.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Short walk to the British Museum, tube stop at the corner, easy shopping a eating across the street.
We had booked a flat in London that turned out to be so loud we would not sleep. We found this Holiday Inn and transferred the next day. The hotel manager was so kind and helpful!! We got a good rate on a booking site and Greg, the manager helped accommodate 5 people in 2 rooms. He also called and changed the pick up location of our tour the next day to a location just around the corner! So appreciated the help so much! The rooms were very clean, had great air conditioning and comfortable beds and were extremely quiet. There was a Starbucks, grocery store and other shopping right across the street. A tube station was around the corner and easy walking to the British Museum. It was a great experience.

Very nice hotel at convenient locationPosted Jun 9, 2014
Nice hotel overall. We took a double room and stayed there for 2 nights. The room was small but clean and the bathroom was at good size and also looked new and clean. The double bed was also nice and comfy. There were tea&coffee facilities provided as well as toiletries. If you have forgotten something such as a toothbrush you can ask at the reception and they are happy to provide you with one for free. Only downside is there is no free wi-fi so you have to pay 5 pounds just for one hour. Also we ordered for a breakfast in bed which for 17 pounds per person (including the 3 pounds service tray) was not good quality-wise. It was just ok. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its clean rooms, good service and nice location.

Nice hotel close to college and shopsPosted Jun 6, 2014
Conveniently located for our needs with shops and restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast included with our package. The staff were very helpful and made our stay worry free for two elderly female travelers. Thank you.
