Great old hotel in great location.

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: The location cannot be beat. Both the Underground and many buses run very close, you're within easy distance of Euston, King's Cross and St. Pancras.
Location: Across the street from Russell Square, you're in Bloomsbury and University College London, Birkbeck College, the Warburg Institute. And tourist stuff.
I've passed by the Russell Hotel a million times, on my way from the Russell Square tube stop (which is literally yards from the hotel) to various low-cost hostels etc.. This time I decided to check it out. It was great. Designed by the same architect who worked on the dining room of the RMS Titanic, it's stayed afloat, and maintained its Edwardian fussy loveliness.

Perfect location - close to British Museum

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Location and history (I have stayed there many times)
Cons: The bathroom was tiny - a masterpiece of engineering - but tiny!
Location: British Museum
Location, location, location: we were to meet friends in Covent Garden for dinner - one of us had business in the Strand on Monday and we met in the afternoon to see the Greek exhibition at the BM. Perfect!

Mooi groot hotel

Posted Jun 9, 2015

Posted May 31, 2015

Super large hotel in London

Posted May 29, 2015
This is a huge hotel with maze like corridors to find your room. Giid lication right next to the tube, walking distance to sights. Room was very large and in ok condition, nice bathrooms. 12pm checkout is handy.

Central Location

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms are tired
Location: British Museum, theater district, trains to airport, other parts of England, and some international routes like Brussels.
The public spaces are very characteristic of the English architecture...lots of character. Rooms are not quite as modern or large as an American chain hotel would be. It is very centrally located - close enough (longer walks or short taxi rides) to central London attractions, yet far enough to be way from the noise. Park across the street is absolutely beautiful.
