Historic hotel in a great location

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Some small things were nicely done. For example, the desk had an American outlet so no converter was necessary and the towel rack was heated.
Cons: The internet policy was poorly explained. My room came with one hour per every four hours.
Location: The hotel is very close to the Russell Square underground station and an easy walk to the British Museum.
My single room was cosy, with a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking Russell Square. The bathroom was full-size, with bathtub/shower. The historic central staircase has been beautifully renovated (pink stone etc.).

Long walk to St Pancras!

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Pros: The look of it from the outside - very grand
Cons: I don't understand the inability to change the date you have booked on a special deal basis - even if you offer to pay more money!
Location: The British Museum was lovely but quite a walk and Camden Lock Market - again a very long walk but worth it
I booked the hotel as there was an offer and we needed to get to St Pancras early in the morning - however our tour company changed the dates but we were unable to change our date so came up to London anyway. The room was okay but I feel that if we had just booked normally (rather than a reduced, non refundable rate) we might have got a better, not so tired room. We then had to stay an extra night in Paris - however the walk to St Pancras - in the rain was quite a chore with two heavy suitcases!

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: maintenance
Location: very good location. central. near the british museum.
very nice hotel, good service. the old wood floor (under the carpet) made noise while walking. i didn't like it. near to the station, and easy from and to airport.

Central location

Good place for an overnight stay. Central within easy walking with no need to use the tube or buses.

Hotel Russell

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Great breakfast for £12 (if you book at time of checking in) otherwise it would be £19.50 !!
Location: Good location, close to Museums, shops and the Underground
Single room was small for the price, window did not close tight so noise from streets below was quite noticable, and the bed mattress was hard. The room furniture looked tired and a bit shabby. Whilst the Hotel reception & public areas looked great, my room did not - and so I would not recommend, especially at this price paid.

Good location to King's Cross

Pros: Location
Tiles in the bathroom were broken. Good location and central to London. Close to Metro (Russel Square.) Park across the road is very nice - must try the cafe for afternoon tea. Very relaxing.

The Russell Hotel itself was a highlight of London

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: The front desk staff and concierge were so helpful and welcoming. The building is historical and rich in atmosphere.
Cons: I wouldn't change a thing. Keep it just the way it is.
Location: Excellent convenient location to downtown London.
The Russell Hotel more than met our expectations. The staff was welcoming and pleasant. They allowed us an extra early check in, hugely appreciated after flying all night. We felt swept away in a grand hotel, lovely atmosphere, with a beautiful cafe in the park across the street. The rooms were well cared for and comfortable. The location is excellent, close to everything we wanted to see. We'll never forget this beautiful hotel and our trip to jolly old England! I only hope we get to go back some day!!!

Beautiful hotel, great location, not-so-great room

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: location
I checked in after midnight having been at a work function. The room I was given would never be featured on the website. The bed was comfortable for one night. Fortunately my partner was on-call and was unable to join me as the room was not suitable for two people.
