Had to change room as was that small,next room was a little bigger but the shower room was dirty,mould all over shower bottom,black hairs on tiles my daughter asked for some bleach so she could clean it before I used it.

Could be so much better..
The excellent staff could not really make up for the inadequacies in my room alas. The shape of the room meant that floor space was lost as bed was pushed into a triangular corner. The shower cubicle was old and grubby and the cubicle doors really only appropriate for a malnourished child. Suggestion: make bathroom a wet room! Kettle flex was not able to reach plug and meant tea/coffee making was a trip hazard. Gap in curtains allowed light to shine direct in face. Great location, good staff but disappointing experience

Rudest Staff Ever
I arrived at around 11pm and was on a work call when I was outside. The receptionist told me he would not let me into the building because I was too loud. When he finally let me in, he shouted at me, threw the krr er y at me, and gave me the incorrect room number. The room was tiny, noisy, and there were what appeared to be pubic hair over the quilt, which although was a single room, did not fit the bed, so the night was cold also. Very run down and in need of repair. No hot water for shower in the morning.

It’s a good place to stop if your in London for work, it’s a good price and a comfy bed! It’s probably not the best quality for a full on holiday but great when needing to stay in Islington for a few days for work or to see family and freinds! It was small and basic but comfortable and the staff are lovely. The only issue I had was the shower took a while for the water heating to work.

Very convenient walking distance to the Islington Business Centre. Though the lobby is very good sized with chairs, would be nice if a TV and coffee maker would be placed

the front desk customer service are nice peoples BUT THE HOTEL BUIDING CONDITION ARE TERRIBLE OLD DIRTY AND STING my wife was throwing up from the sting carpet when we got in the room 5 minutes

How is this 3 star?
I've never had as bad a stay at any hotel. Was confusion from the start as staff didnt understand I had booked a room and were saying they were fully booked. The hotel was unclean both in general and the room itself. It's the first time I've ever stayed in a room that was on a slope so the bed was laying on a downwards slope and was extremely uncomfortable. Only one pillow each provided for my partner and I. The room was tiny with stuff crammed in. The plumbing system was extremely noisy and the shower would block meaning that you needed to stop it every few minutes to save flooding the room. The hotel website says breakfast is provided but we were told nothing about this and upon leaving the staff barely acknowledged us. It was like something you would expect in a comedy show. Never made a review as bad for a hotel before but it was unbelievable the amount of things that weren't right about this stay. Will never be back. Pictures make it look much better than what it is but how it gets a 3 star rating is beyond me.

I normally do not stay at places with lots of bad reviews, but i'm glad i gave Islington Inn a try. I stayed there for a weekend in July, for under £200, which is great for London. The Inn is located in an up market area of London full of amenities. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place as a budget friendly option for a short trip, with great travel links to all London attractions :)

It’s converted from a pub maybe into cheap hotel but if you’re happy no frills it’s great. Clean bed / bathroom basic wardrobe. And on direct 341 bus from Waterloo ! Great Sutton’s fish bar close by. Local supermarket groceries and green grocer.

It was an easy check-in process. The reception area is not at all welcoming; it needs some furniture and fresh paint. The room was okay - bed was comfy but shower only gave out scolding hot water. The whole building looks tired and in need of a makeover. I would not stop there again in its current state.

Hallways not clean, wasnt expecting room to be either but was surprised when got to room that the bedding and towels were clean. Room was small and in need of a proper hoover, found toenail and hairclip on floor at side of bed, also in need of decoration and a mattress replacement, was very uncomfortable. But overall done the job for 1 night, but wouldnt go back again

The hotel was very basic but i have got to say it was very clean. It could do with an update as it was very dated. Room was very small but we only used it to sleep in as we were seeing family. The location was brilliant for us. We just jumped on a bus and we were in the centre of London. We are hoping to go back before Christmas and will definitely stay at Islington Inn.

What I would expect for the price
This was about what I expected for a £60 per night single room in London. Looked a bit tired and run down especially in the rather cramped corridors. Smelled vaguely of cig smoke and the bathroom smelled damp. Having said that the guy on the front desk was friendly, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, the blackout curtains were good so it was OK for my one night stay for a meeting. Be aware, as I read on another review, the shower cubicle really is tiny so if you are on the large side it could be a struggle

Worst experience ever. One wouldn’t treat a dog the way we were treated. We are no beggars. We paid for your hotel and service, instead of hospitality we had to beg for what we paid for and made to feel we asking for charity.
