Last minutePosted Aug 12, 2013
Decided to stay the night in London at the last minute and booked into this hotel. Could not say anything bad about the place. Was very affordable for a last minute sat night booking and was very close to the tube station. Will defo stay again.

Adequate, but a bit pricey.Posted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: 100% location.
Location: I think the location is great, you have Paddington 2 mins away, and Lancaster Gate 1 minute away, also access to Hyde Park which is cool.
I got this on an offer, staying for 2 nights for Iron Maiden gigs. I found that the room was downstairs. It had a small window, but I had no view (apart from a wall and an 'outhouse' that someone was accessing often, which meant they could look into my room through the window), which was a bit annoying. The room was rather small and dark, didn't look the cleanest I've ever been in, but that may just be down to the decor being a bit dated. There was not much floor space to walk due to the size and shape of room and various items. For my purpose of just sleeping between gigs, I found it was adequate and the bed was really comfy and clean. I had a shower in my room, which I requested, but they had no shampoo that you normally get at hotels (minor detail, but I have long hair and I was travelling light :D Every other hotel I've ever stayed in has had little sachets of shampoo/conditioner.). The toilet was shared. There was a big tv, some storage space and a sink. I was a bit disappointed at the price for this type of room, despite being an 'offer', it still seemed expensive for what it was. My friend had a hotel room for less cost, a little bit further out in Garden Court, that was much better than mine and was also cheaper (at the time). I felt a bit disappointed by the cost/room of this Lancaster Court Hotel. I only slept and washed there so it did the job I required with no frills. There are better hotels around the area, so look around first.

Good convenient location, but, far from elegantPosted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Excellent location (safe & central). Supply of clean big white towels. Relative quietness. Some staff were polite & friendly, while others were ok.
Cons: Clearly the Breakfast! It isn't so hard to add some more variety & quality. Pls repair the shower door, and better price for upper floors.
Location: Very ideally located. I was attending Proms @ Royal Albert Hall, across Kensington Park, 20 mins pleasant walk. A few mins to Metro & Train stations!
I don't want to be so nasty, but I won't go back to this hotel, at the price I've paid (USD 78/night). My room was on the top floor, which the hotel called as "5th floor." but, it was more like 6th, or 7th floor, at the end of very narrow, difficult steep steps. (We cannot count floors, as there are so many pseudo-floors in between.) The single room was so small, there wasn't enough space to open a cabin-sized suitcase & walk around it, unless you are prepared to jump over it. Room had only 3 hangers to hang my dresses for concerts & theatres, and the staff couldn't find any extra hangers. The shared toilet / shower facility was clean enough, but, the toilet didn't have light and the glass door for the shower had fallen off (apparently some time ago), and was placed against the wall, for the duration of my 5 day stay. - At least, the towels were clean & nice! Spartan breakfast amazed me with just 3 pcs of toast, and supply of packed butter, cheese, or jams, and a choice of over-cooked tea, or instant coffee and OJ! (Is this how British people actually live??) The breakfast room staff didn't even understand English, when a family of frustrated hotel guests decided to bring in their own instant cup noodles and requested to have hot water for those. For this quality, the room price should have been half, but, let's admit, it has very central ideal location, just next to Kensington Park; both Lancaster Gate station & Paddington station are in a few minutes walk. Time is money!

Great value for moneyPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very pleasant stay in the not-so-easy-to-find in London decent 4-person room. Positively surprised by the newly fitted shower amenities in our bathroom. The only bothering thing was the loud shutting doors to the adjacent breakfast room since early morning hours. The location near Paddington station very convenient for the weekend London break.

Very poor hotel...rooms not at all like they appear on the website. Old and shabby rooms - lots of repair needed. Breakfast was a slice of toast, no cereals or rolls offered....very poor! Staff not at all helpful, two members of staff were actually having a disagreement at Reception when we arrived and we were left waiting. Quad room advertised on Hotel.com website as being 1 double and 2 singles....when we arrived we were given Quad room with 2 doubles! My daughter had to sleep on the floor the first night.

You can do better for the moneyPosted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: There is no lift and that needs to be stated. Breakfast needs to be more than toast and cheese if advertising a free breakfast.
Location: Paddington station is near by and that can get you to almost anywhere
First off the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. However that about sums up the positives here. The beds are extreamly uncomfortable. There is no lift which is not mentioned in the add, and there are a lot of stairs. The free breakfast consists of toast, cheese slices and juice. The hotel itself is not in so bad an area but you have to go through some not so nice areas to get there. Lucky it is only a few blocks from Paddington station.

Pros: Good beds and breakfast staff was very attentive
Cons: Where do I start......
I booked this hotel based on 2things; 1. An in suite bathroom, which is HARD to find in London at any reasonable price 2. The pics and documentation found on the web WHAT a disappointment! One of the hottest few days in London in years and no a/c in a 4th floor walk up. We came back our 2nd nite after wandering London at approx 2400 and had to pound on the door to be let in. Were told by other staff that the night desk only likes to let PAYING CUSTOMERS in on the hour. Peed off the night guy but he let us in. The only redeeming quality was the beds were very comfortable and we had only one of three rooms in the hotel with an in-suite bath. Guess that's what you get for booking during Wimbledon AND the British Grand Prix.
