Great exceptionally courteous and helpful staffPosted Aug 19, 2014
Hotel lovely. Upscale feel. Comfortable and really quiet. Great sleep. Yes they should have wifi included. No brainer. Did have trouble as others reported but staff showed me how to correct and it was fine. The staff as stated were exceptional in their courtesy and helpfulness. A bit far from metro but so pretty all round walk was fine. Hyde park 5 mins. BEST Greek restaurant right around corner. Most delicious meal of our entire stay. Would come again.

All well and goodPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Location mainly, but good value for what you get for what we paid.
Cons: It is what it is, no doubt any improvements would come with a price.
Location: Well located to Lancaster Gate Tube and easy walk to Bayswater/Paddington/Notting Hill hubs.
All well and good...no bells and whistles, few frills or thrills. No complaints. Good location for getting out and exploring the heart of London. Staff very helpful, smooth check in and out. Comfortable bar/lobby/lounge. Restaurant looked OK but we did not utilise for breakfast or other meals, so no comment.

Quiet location. Clean rooms.Posted Aug 13, 2014
Cons: Mini bar. Wifi too expensive.
Helpful staff let us check in early at 9am and let us store our bags for free after checkout. Restaurant overpriced but ok food. Small fridge and no glasses for a glass of wine. But nice it be close to the park and room very clean.

Nice hotel close to Hyde Park.Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Very spacious and grand reception. All staff very friendly and helpful at all times.
Cons: A bit frenetic at breakfast. The serving tables could perhaps be more accessible to more people at once.
Location: Very close to Hyde Park, walked very easily through there to V&A, Science Museum etc. Short bus ride to Oxford Street.
Was a bit dubious after reading some reviews but was very pleased with all aspects of our stay. All public areas were spacious and well furnished. The room was a good size by London standards. I went on a site seeing trip with my adult daughter and we felt comfortable coming back there whatever the time. A bit far from the tubes when you had been walking all day, but a good bus service nearby.

Good position near Oxford Street and parksPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Looked charming from outside
Location: good position near to underground and Oxford Street shops
There was no help with luggage. Lift went to first floor, after that I had to carry a very heavy case up and down stairs with no help from porters. The housekeeping staff helped me. When leaving I asked for somebody to help me down with luggage and order me a taxi. Nobody came and I again had to lug my cases up and down stairs, no taxi had been ordered. I nearly missed my ongoing transport because of the delays. The room smelt damp but was OK for the one night I stayed, if I had been staying longer I would have asked to be moved. In all a disappointing stay and would not recommend to my friends.

Unprofessional staff, underwhelming hotelPosted Aug 8, 2014
The staff at this hotel while friendly enough just didn't quite impress us much. We arrived early in London and needed to stay an extra night, they were booked at this hotel (not their fault) but after telling us they would call nearby hotels to find another room they didn't and were very unhelpful. We ended up going to a hotel up the street named Lancaster London, while a little more expensive , I would say it is worth it. Better location, better facilities, very comfortable, professional staff and just better overall. Everything I asked for at Lancaster Gate was mishandled I'm sorry to say. With so many choices in hotels look for something better I would say.

The hotel was close to the Underground and Kensington Park for great long walks. Also close to good restaurants and a couple of pubs.

Lancaster HotelPosted Jul 27, 2014
On arrival our room was ready- we had a basement room because we needed a triple room. Staff were courteous. Internet will cost you $5 pounds per day and even that it was slow and problematic. If you have kids that require fast internet connection, this hotel is not for you. There is a restaurant on site with limited menu and close at 11 pm. The public transport ( Lancaster Gate and Queens Way tube stations) are about 5-10 mins walk from the hotel. There is a park a block way which is Lady Diana memorial place. On check out, we had to pay $1 pound for each bag we left at the concierge as we needed to check out earlier. This was never charged by any of the hotels we stayed durkng our Europe trip. The hotel looks good in pics and most customers are elderly. if you want shopping, stay at Marble Arch or if you want closer to Buckingham Palace , stay in Grosvenor Hotel.
