Great hotelPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff
Cons: Nothing it was great
Location: Good location easy access to underground, easy walk into city of London
As you approach this hotel you notice the lovely exterior and all the Christmas foliage.. The staff are very welcoming and the room was lovely. Good sizes, immaculately clean super high bed with really soft duvet and pillows. The full english breakfast was expensive so we ate at one of the many venues serving breakfast locally. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from moorgate underground to the hotel. I felt this hotel was conveniently placed to the underground to be able to get about. I would definitely stay here again

A weekend in LondonPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: The staff
Cons: Noise from the outside air conditioning units
Location: Short work to Charterhouse and Smithfield area.
The hotel was lovely and the staff were really friendly. We needed to be in the City so the location suited our needs. The rooms were really nice but we had one problem. On the outside wall (Room 602) there was a large air conditioning unit that was operating all night plus it was blowing hot air through the wndow so I think the air conditioning was fighting with itself. The staff had put the cushions at the window and this did dampen the noise. It also worked a bit like white noise so we did sleep very well and we really enjoyed our stay. Of all the hotels we have used in London I would say that the staff at this one were the nicest by a long way. They could not do enough to help and really seemed to enjoy looking after us. We will stay again.

Free upgrade to suite when room was overbookedPosted Sep 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
What can I say? After an initial mess up with the room I was assigned being taken, I was upgraded to a suite! Two levels of comfort awaited me, for a relaxed evening. staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I could make the small nit-pick points about this or that - but overall I would have like to have stayed longer

Good location with attractions close byPosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was great if a bit stuffy. The Jagged Hare pub and restaurant that is attached is very expensive in my mind but there's a Tesco express a block away that you can grab a quick and healthy meal at. Barbican seems to be quite a business area with lots of people and goings on during the week and very quiet on the weekend. The London museum is a ten minute walk away and a great place to spend several hours!

Peaceful hotelPosted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Being in The City it is very quiet, at weekends, but it will take a while to get to the main tourist destinations; it suited us as we needed to be around Barbican. The hotel is well decorated and the rooms are very comfortable and quiet but the bathroom is let down, a little, by poor water pressure in the shower. It was nice to have the little things, that some larger hotel chains ignore, like power points near the bed, for charging phones, and even a power point inside the safe! The staff are very welcoming and VERY eager to please, which is a little odd at first, but it beats being ignored.

I had an amazing experience. I was upgraded to a family suite and the room was to perfection. I loved everything from the warm welcome to the aroma therapy in the room! It was a wonderful stay :)

Need to Speak to Hotel Manager and Hotels.comPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel based on the 4-star rating and all of the positive customer reviews. I was staying on business, so I checked in to the hotel, quickly dropped my bags, went to my work function, then came back to get settled in the room. I returned around 11 p.m. to find that the room seemed nice enough to drop my bags off, but it was NOT clean nor functional. While the room was very modern and hip, I immediately had to call the operator to get help with the shower (the knobs did not function properly to make each shower feature work - it had a rain shower and a regular handle shower) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, my bed was dirty. I FOUND TOENAILS IN THE BED! There were nails and some kind of dirt in the duvet and in the bed sheets. The operator said he could send housekeeping. Within 30 minutes, housekeeping was able to replace the bed sheet and duvet cover. It was very late and no one else was available to talk to so at checkout, I told the receptionist how upset I was with the room. He said he would "pass the information along to housekeeping" and that he was sorry. I asked him to have someone in management call or email me but I have not heard from them in the past week. I really need Hotels.com to help me get in touch with the hotel. I am completely repulsed by the toenails in the bed and the lack of attention to the matter. I am dissatisfied overall with the entire stay. Please help!

Very RelaxingPosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lot's of little extras. Fruit every stay, heated towel racks, great local pub downstairs as part of the complex, interesting history, etc.
