Great hotels, huge rooms and lovely safe area

Posted Jul 6, 2015
I stayed here with my son for an exhibition at Excel. It was much better value than the hotels next door to Excel and only 5 short stops on the DLR which is 2 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is superior in standard of room, cleanliness and service and we loved it. Best thing of all is that one side of the hotel opens up onto West India Quay (a minute from Canary Wharf) and we loved walking round here when looking for a bite to eat. It felt really safe and very smart and the tube / DLR stops are all close by. Room service is quick and efficient, beds are very comfortable and great LG TV! Some people may feel the decor is more traditional but I prefer that to the minimalist style. It is still modern. The only thing that would make this 5/5 for me is if there was a pool / spa area Highly recommend this hotel and join Marriott members club to get perks including free wifi.

Nice hotel, very comfortable beds

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Overall a nice experience, decent sized room with good facilities - shame about the location of my room on the mezzanine level which meant I could hear the DLR trains going past the window every few minutes. When I asked to change rooms I was told the hotel was completely full and that would not be possible but that I could have earplugs to sleep - I do not pay for a room and expect to have to use earplugs to get a decent nights sleep. Was not asked how the stay was on check out which I was disappointed with. Aside from that the hotel is very conveniently located for local bars, shops and restaurants and Canary Wharf tube station. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I enjoyed the stay other than the noise issue.

Handy location

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Lower the cost of breakfast. Unaffordable for a family of four.
Location: The hotel is directly adjacent to the West India Quay stop on the DLR. lots of shops, restaurants and pubs nearby.
We had two interconnecting rooms which were very comfortable. We were at the back of the hotel so some noise from the DLR. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only negative is the price of breakfast.

Disappointing

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Staff very very helpful and could not do enough.
Cons: Bedding checked for cleanliness, furniture repaired or changed.
Excellent staff who just could not do enough and very fast check in and out. Received an early check in. However. Room looked tired, lampshade on the lamp battered, furniture very tired and chipped, chair with a hole in the back and the arm plus makeup stain on the pillow. A real shame as this was not 5 star. The entrance etc very clean and smart and again staff could not do enough for you.

Right by the river

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Had a very pleasant stay. Staff all very helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very nice with a huge king size bed which was lovely and comfortable. We had breakfast included and it was really good. Great hot and cold selection which was all self serve. The hotel was right by the river with lots of bars and a shopping mall close by. We would definitely return there.

Pleasantly surprised

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: The rooms were spacious and well provided. The bathrooms were spotless and with excellent showers. Very quiet as well which is not always the case.
Cons: The restaurant attached to the hotel is overpriced. The food was adequate, but not value for money. The waitress was excellent however.
Location: Canary wharf was a bit of surprise as it is getting better shopping wise, and this is handy for the Excel centre.
We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the Marriot hotel. The staff were very efficient and helpful, knew their jobs and had information on hand, none of this "I'll ask the manager" business. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with power sockets, especially near the bed which as I have a CPAP is essential (and sometimes rare in modern hotels). The beds were very comfortable and the rooms air conditioning actually worked.

Langt uden for centrum men kort transporttid

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: Helt vildt mange mennesker klar til at betjene
Location: Perfekt hvis man skal til arrangementer i O2
Høj, høj standard i betjening og komfort. Fuld morgenmadsmenu anbefales
