Nice hotel, terrible room for rate

I am petite and didn't have space to walk between nor around beds. I asked for a better room and they told me I had to pay £36/$68 more for a room with space to walk. Room offered was of 1 star hotel inside a 5 star hotel.

Close to West End and areas we needed to visit

Pros: The staff were great, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, and we were particularly impressed with the breakfast facilities.
Cons: Maybe better soundproofing on external windows. Our room was not fully double glazed, and there was some intrusion of external noise during the night.
Location: We were visiting a clinic in Harley Street, which was very close. We also walked to Leicester Square in the evening to meet friends. Excellent.
Very easy to find and reach from Paddington Station. Very nice staff, good room, nice bar, and excellent breakfast facilities. Close to relevant tube stations, and an easy walk to the West End. And considering its central London location, very reasonably priced.

Wunderschönes Hotel, super gelegen für Städtetrip

Das Hotel empfing uns mit einem super Eindruck. Toller Empfang, imposante Eingangshalle und kleine aber sehr schicke Zimmer. Das Bett ist wunderbar groß und bequem. :-) Gut, das Bad war nicht das modernste, aber es war sauber und das ist die Hauptsache. Sogar alle nötigen Duschproben waren vorhanden. Und das Frühstücksbuffet war der Wahnsinn, da fehlte es wirklich an nichts -sogar für glutenfreie Ernährung war gesorgt. Und für die Stadtrundfahrt sind wir einfach vor der Tür in den Bus eingestiegen oder zum Piccadilly gelaufen.

Aangenaam hotel

Location: Zeer dicht bij twee metrostations, hightlights van Londen goed bereikbaar.
Vriendelijk personeel; kamers, hotellobby etc. zeer verzorgd; uitgebreid ontbijt.

Excellent long weekend before Christmas

Pros: Although large it was comfortable and homely
Location: Location good for all areas in London. Get an oyster card which makes travel easier.
The hotel is of a good standard without being stuffy, it is very personable and the staff always very helpful. We were very pleased at the amount of fresh fruit, vegetables and produce used in the restaurants and ate in the hotel more often than we had anticipated. We upgraded from a standard room to LEVEL including breakfast, tapas etc. which was very good.

Pros: Locatie bij Regents Park en korte afstand tot metrostations. Drukke bar met gezellig ( soms een beetje knullig ) personeel.
Cons: Schoonheid van de kamers
trage afhandeling bij de receptie bij aankomst. ondanks telefonisch contact enkele dagen voor aankomst, gedoe met wisselen van kamer tijdens verblijf. reden niet duidelijk en uiteindelijk ook niet doorgegaan. Daarnaast verwachtingen gewekt welke niet werden nagekomen. Jammer... gemiste kans. Bij vertrek ook trage afhandeling tgv storing betaalautomaat. Verder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, waardoor irritatie factor duidelijk verlaagd.

Nice hotel service not so good

After waiting twenty minutes to check in we were told room not yet available , fair enough we were a bit early . Returned after three for another go at checking in after another twenty minutes in a relatively short queue they could not find our paper work.they gave up looking after ten minutes and allocated a room after which all was good.not what you expect from a four star hotel but they did offer small plastic beakers of water or o/j while in queues.

Classic Rooms are rather tired

Pros: Location
Sadly inspite of its marvellous entrance and trappings of grandeur we felt the hotel did not live up to its Melia reputation. The Classic rooms were on the small and narrow size with dated decor.We moved because the room had an occupied interlinking door. Breakfast, once again looked appealing but our coffee was stewed and we would have enjoyed, in hindsight, the food at a nearby Pret A Manger much more. Overal it was disappointing but we were asked on arrival if we would like a paid upgrade but declined.Just one of those unfortunate experiences and it did not spoil our trip. The hotel is in a good location with Oxford Street a mere 20 minute walk away and had a 12 mid day checkout which really suited us.
