Good South Bank hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Close to Bankside restaurants and attractions; within walking distance of the city.
Cons: Absence of exhaust fan in bathroom left room very humid.
Location: See above. The closest underground station is about a 15-minute walk, which is tiresome but not the hotel's fault.
The room was small but adequately furnished. Hotel appeared understaffed, but eventually all our needs were taken care of. The bar and restaurant are not recommended; they couldn't figure out how to make a scotch and soda, and the menu selections were sparse and expensive.

Not the biggest rooms, playing music through the TV did not work and the temperature in the shower could not be adjusted

Good Southwark based hotel

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Modern, clean and stylish hotel with friendly staff.
Cons: Is there easy access to the hotel?
Location: Within walking distance of Waterloo Station and London Bridge tube station. Tate Modern and the Southbank are nearby, as is Southwark
We enjoyed a comfortable 4 night stay here. Good hotel within easy walking distance of the river and Tate Modern and of Borough market and environs.

Handy to bus stations and underground.

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Everything was fine as stated above.
Cons: The outside of the building is drab and perhaps could do with a facelift.
Location: near to the Tate Project and several restaurants. We walked aroud the area and enjoyed looking at the old and new buildings that are in the area
Reception staff extremely helpful. Meals were well presented and staff in dining room pleasant and welcoming. Room clean and bed very comfortable. Room situated next to street but no noise in room even though a very busy street. All in all a very pleasant stay.
