Recommend that you Try "the table" for breakfast which is next door. I've used this hotel twice now, mainly because of it's location for getting about around London and because it's one of the better ones for comfort. You can go cheaper than this hotel, but usually your sacrificing a lot, such as comfy bed, and space. Both times the bathroom has had a full size bath/shower, which is nice. You also get complementry late checkout up to 5pm on a Sunday for no extra cost. One of the reasons that swung it for me to go back! As other hotels charge per the hour for late departure and usually want you gone for 11am/12pm

Buon comfort e posizione strategicaPosted Apr 7, 2015
Consigliato

Good location but that's about it.Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Good location for a drink at the Shard and food at Borough Market.
Location: Nice easy walk to the west end
My wife and I stay in this area of London about once every 3 months. This is the first time we have stayed at the Mercure in Southwark Bridge Road and probably wouldn't bother again. Our room, 206 was grubby. Will pay the extra £10-20 and stay in the Hilton next time, always good quality.

good location for tower bridge/shard areaPosted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: the choice at breakfast and the location was good for what we were doing on this visit to london.
Cons: cleanliness of bathrooms
Location: close to shard, tower bridge, shakespeares globe, tate modern and borough market.
hotel is generally good but our room was definatley in need of a good clean and and some general maintenance eg new sealant in bathroom (it was black with mould) and replacement toilet ( part of ours was broken off on one side behind the seat area). the shower was awful more of a dribble that a shower, it took ages to rinse shampoo out! no curtains at the full wall height windows just venetian blinds with slats missing that let the light in when you're trying to sleep early in the morning and that give a terrible draft to the side of the bed that the window is on. the breakfast however was good with a great selection but there should be for the price! dont ask reception to arrange a taxi for you though they forget even though they ask for the address of where you're going; just flag one down yourself outside the hotel there are plenty

Good overallPosted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: Location, very close to the south bank
Recently had a single nights stay here whilst having a weekend in London & overall the hotel is good with nice location & facilities, room we had was fairly compact but it was clean & comfortable. Staff were reasonably helpful but had one minor issue that let them down. We went out for dinner on the Saturday & I asked for a cab to be arranged which was clearly forgotten which resulted in us being late for our reservation but other than that everything else was ok. There is plenty of nearby parking available at reasonable rates also.

Great location, disappointing roomPosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Location, wifi.
Cons: Standard of classic rooms
Location: Perfect for Southbank, St Paul's and Tower Bridge
Great location and welcome from staff on arrival but classic room was tiny, cramped and very tired, obviously not been decorated or updated for many years. Stained carpets, dirt around skirting boards and tiling in bathroom, dirty stained bath. Noisy work being carried out before 9am didn't make for a relaxing stay. Didn't feel like a 4 star experience.

Nice for a short TripPosted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: free wifi. staff.
Cons: update the room. Feels old and dated.
Location: Hixster resturant. great bars near london bridge hotel. breakfast club is walking distance away. covent garden is a walking distance away.
Best part of the experience was the staff. So nice and professional. Accommodation was fine. The location was great. I recommend it for a short (7 days) business trip.

Great locationPosted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: We like everything, nothing disappointed us.
Cons: Breakfast seemed busy on Sunday morning, staff coped well though but would go for earlier sitting next time we visit.
Location: We booked the hotel to be near the Shard. Our friends preferred to be close to Borough Market, as they know the district, bars and restaurants nearby.
A very comfortable and attractive hotel. Wider choice on breakfast menu. Hotel staff polite and bar service excellent.
