“Good Location, Good hotel for money, rude staff”
The hotel is in a nice location wih restaurants, shopping, and public transportation within walking distance. The room was clean but small. The people working at the front desk were rude. Wifi was £2 per 20 min.
“4 Stars..Really?”
First off our room was next to a room they were doing construction in. So during the day there was pounding and jack hammering in. Second our toilet broke and would not flush at all. And lastly we were on the 5th floor and the elevator broke too! When asked to be moved to a new room we were told " its after 5 and the construction is done for the day mamn" I would not stay at this hotel ever again. The best thing I can say about this place is; Joe the bartender was amazing and friendly. He was the sunshine of this hotel!!!
“second time in 2yrs”
This hotel has a very friendly helpful staff . That was willing to help with several problems from directions to different part of London to getting a car service for a 5am ride to St Pancras station to get the Eurostar to Paris. The hotel is close to gloucester rd tube station that is served by 3 different subway lines and is on the driect line to and from Heathrow.
“Wonderful Location, Worlds Worst Beds”
The hotel was very clean, well maintained and was in a fabulous location. The rooms were extremly small but that was to be expected for London. The only thing that was horrible was the condition of the beds. After two days on them, I literally had bruises from the springs in the bed. It felt like I was sleeping on wooden planks and marbles. It was just the worst. But everything else was nice in the hotel. If the beds were replaced I would recommend this hotel to a friend but under the current conditions I wouldn't recommend the stay to any friends I wanted to keep.
“Small but good value for money”
In my experience, still of the better options in London looking at the value for money. Still, sort of a rabbit cage.
“Do not stay here!”
This was hands down the most uncomfortable hotel I've ever stayed at. The number one amenity a hotel is supposed to provide is a decent bed to sleep on. You cannot sleep on the beds. The mattress springs grind into your back. I slept maybe an hour the whole night - mostly from extreme exhaustion. The room was not very clean, and the bathroom was old and the towels dirty. I found other peoples hair and fingernails around the sink! And the kicker is how thin the walls are. In the middle of the night I could clearly hear the person next door peeing. This hotel claims it is 4 stars. It is at best 1-2. Awful, awful, awful.
“Decent hotel for business traveller”
I was in a compact double room, very small but OK because I was alone. The room was clean but the towels were quite old and not very clean. Very noisy. Positive: wireless internet connection for free, good location.
“Good location. Uncomfortable beds.”
Nice location. Close to 2 tube stations. The hotel itself was nice, very clean. The front desk staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. We got more help and information from the sweet girl working behind the bar. The biggest complaint we had was the comfort of the bed(s). We requested a double bed and they merely pushed 2 single beds together. The mattresses were terrible! There wasn't anywhere you could lay that you weren't getting a spring poked in to your back! So between the springs and falling in to the gap between the beds, it wasn't a good experience at all. We won't come back to this location.
“Not Impressed...”
The location was pretty central and close to two different tube stations, but the bed left a lot to be desired. If you're anything like me, the bed has to be good or what is the point of staying there if you can't sleep? It was like sleeping on a cardboard box stuffed with socks. Also, the pillows were more like pillows for decoration on a couch rather than for head and neck support while you sleep. They were small in size and had almost no stuffing. The staff was very nice, and they kept the room clean. However, the hotel its self smelled of gas 3 out of 5 days and the staff acted as if nothing was new. Also, their wireless internet was difficult to get logged into and their prices for laundry service was astronomical. In the end, it served it purpose by providing us clean shelter at a reasonable price in a good location, but I sincerely doubt we would ever stay there again.
“When you go, be prepared”
When you go be prepared with the following: According to hotel amenity we should have had: concierge service, ticket assistance, limited room service and extra linens in room but these amenities were not there. The front desk tried to answer our questions but they were far from concierge service; tickets we needed we had to find them on our own; no room service or extra linens. Coffee shop listed was not US idea of coffee shop with food it was just coffee, tea and brews. The room we stayed was very, very small. Bathroom had a great lights and water pressure for shower. The location of this hotel was great close to tube stations, some attractions, restaurants and grocery stores. We will go back and stay again.
