Quick commute to the officePosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: Quick commute
We chose this hotel because it was a quick commute to the office, was in policy, and had availability for 8 nights. Hotel was nothing special. Probably on the lower end of 4-star hotels.

Great locationPosted Nov 18, 2013
So close to Southwark tube and Waterloo station. In a quieter area of the city with good restaurants and bars. Would stay again and recommend.

Family friendly hotelPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: The use of tech gadgets
Cons: Have a telephone down by the swimming pool so you can call reception to switch the sauna on.
Location: Mid way between the London Eye and Borough Market. Close to the OXO tower, globe theatre, Tate Modern. Great for the South Bank
Travelled with two children (8 and 11 years). Comfortable room even when set up for 4 people, and also equipped for four people which made a change. Towels, cups, milk and enough tea, coffee and biscuits for four. The main entrance area had a nice seating area with an interactive games table which the kids loved and a games system connected to a large TV. Best of all, as far as the kids were concerned, was the large dining table with the ipods attached. Having read some reviews of the hotel restaurant we opted to eat in which we would not normally do, but it was a nice meal, the kids were happy pottering with the tech and we could relax with a bottle of wine. We did not stay for breakfast as it was not included in the price and there was a Pret down the road which was much cheaper. The only disappointment was the sauna being turned off ... the sign said that you only need to ask and they will come and switch it on but unfortunately this did not happen even after asking a member of staff.

Good experience, would stay againPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: Great location, modern.
Cons: Improve bed comfort, adjust the television so it can be seen from the armchair, make sure all LED lights on equipment can be turned off.
Location: I love Blackfriars for walking but I know London well. Southwark tube is 2mins away, a cab to central (or touristy) London is £10 or so.
In London for work and found my room of a good size, clean and quiet, plus the wifi worked solidly although it was annoying to have to re-register every 24 hours (8 day trip). The bed could be more comfortable but was fine, the bathroom was of an excellent standard with good water pressure. I didn't use the restaurant but did use room service and the food was consistently good. The staff were very polite but I was out often so didn't need their services. There is a gym but I didn't use it but probably should have. Excellent location: Old and Young Vic around the corner at The Cut, plus Union Theatre in the other direction. Anchor & Hope and Byron Burgers for eating. Borough market, Tate Modern and South Bank are all walkable. Shout out for Magdalen restaurant in Tooley st. Great modern British cooking.

Nice New Hotel Near BlackfriarsPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: New, clean, and bright. Free WiFi! Nice staff, PC in the lobby, informal feel.
Cons: Breakfast was very expensive - head to the Cafe Nero by the river!
Location: Not dead central, fairly 'quiet' by London standards, not lots of cafes etc. near the river & Blackfriars Bridge. A few cafes & pubs down there.
This Novotel looks to be a very new (or at least newly refurbished) hotel just over the river from Blackfriars station. We stayed on a Saturday night and found that there weren't a lots of shops/cafes close by apart from down by the river at the OXO tower (about 5 minutes walk away) as most of the area seemed to consist of office blocks etc. As a result as we were tired from exploring, we ate in the hotel restaurant- something we hardly ever do - and were pleased with our meals. Overall we thought the hotel was excellent with bright modern furnishings in the lobby and the rooms, and very helpful staff. There were two computers in the reception which allowed 20 mins free internet access and printing facilities, and decent enough free wifi in the room too.

Great hotel for familiesPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Windows open, relatively quiet, pool and queen bed plus twin for my son,
Cons: Very "wired" which is great but unfortunately some games were broken. The fault of careless guests not the hotel though.
Location: Across the bridge from St. Paul's, Trafalgar Square. Lovely promenade along the south bank.
We just returned from a 4 night stay- my husband, myself and our 10 year old son. My big concern was the location but it was great. I have not been in London for 15 years and wanted to be able to do a lot of walking and also have access to a tube station. It was very reasonably priced and a great location on the south bank but walking distance across the Blackfriars bridge to major sites. Our room included breakfast which was plentiful and healthy. We are vegetarian and were shocked that they even offered veg. sausages. We wanted a queen bed which many hotels don't have but the Novotel did. Also the pool was an added bonus. Great to re energize after a day sightseeing.

posh hotel close to the tubePosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: it has a very modern appearance and is bright and clean
Cons: there needs to be a locking bathroom door and proper wall between the room and bathroom
Location: the tube station is a minutes walk away. it is walkable to the Tate modern museum and the Thames river
it has an annoying swivel door to reception for large suitcases and we all got stuck in it. we all didn't like the see through touch button glass shower door to the bedroom area. the wardrobe-like bathroom door that had a large gap down the middle and also did not lock. received dinted dirty milk pots in the fridge and also had a television which had a mind of its own and repeatedly turned itself on in the night????? staff were very helpful upon arrival and the hotel is in a safe area 2 minutes walk from the southwark tube station.

Convenient location, close to the tubePosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Comfort bed, modern design
Cons: The glass door in the bath room is a bit dangerous for kids.
Location: Close to the tube, a few good restaurants/bars and supermarket nearby.
Modern decoration with great facilty, i.e. self check-in service, free wifi and printer.Great hotel staff is willing to extend help. My family enjoyed staying in this hotel, which is close to Southward sub-way station. The hotel also offers free swiming pool service.
