Bra for en familiehelg i London.Posted Jul 5, 2015
Flott basseng, herlig frokost og bra beliggenhet på Southbank. Buss direkte til Towerbridge og til Covent Garden. Tuben går rett til Greenpark etc.

Nice hotel, no frills, close to the Tate Modern.Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Location was good -- near the river and also the Southwark tube stop.
Cons: See above. Food.
Location: The Tate Modern and Shakespeare Globe are nearby. Also, the National Theatre and British Film Institute.
Room was clean enough, although the carpet and under-drapes were dirty. Staff was, by and large, friendly, but they were not that knowledgeable. When I asked where I could find a nearby cash machine, they failed to let me know there was one about 100 feet away at the local post office. When I asked for a late check-out, the manager at the desk threatened to charge me 60 extra pounds if I was not out within a half hour of the standard noon check-out time. And the food was expensive and terrible. A simple tuna-and-cucumber sandwich cost the equivalent of $12 + dollars but was almost inedible. There was a business center reserved only for customers who had taken more expensive rooms. The standard breakfast would have cost $17 pounds and was not included in my deal.

Are hotel designers exhibitionists?Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: Great location -- Blackfriars underground is a short walk across the river, another is very nearby.
Location: Two undergrounds nearby, short walk to Tate Modern and to St Paul's, The Cut, a nearby street, has lots of restaurants.
Fine standard hotel, modern furniture which included a moderately comfortable couch and an office chair at a desk...but the bathroom wall facing the living area was the type of glass that can be cloudy or clear at the push of a button. So if you want your companion to watch you shower or use the toilet, this is the place for you. If you would like to keep on a light in the bathroom so you can find it at night -- forget it -- the glass wall illuminates the whole room when the light is on. Coming after a stay at the Istanbul Hilton where the toilet is in a clear glass enclosure it does make me wonder about these designers.

Moderno Hotel vicino al centro.Posted Jun 21, 2015

Cons: More converter plugs
Location: Near London City for business travelers.
Excellent responsive staff; very good mid-range hotel in a good location. They need more converter plugs for guest usage.

Lovely modern, central hotel with friendly staff.Posted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: Clean, modern, central and comfortable.
Cons: It was a little but of a battle to order tea at breakfast but it's a minor quibble.
Location: Walking distance to the London Eye and Parliament. Quick Underground ride to the center of London for Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square.
Took my 9 year old son down to London to do the Harry Potter Studio tour so it was just me and him. We got a room with a double bed and a sofa bed for him. It wasn't huge but it was big enough and we weren't there to be in the room all the time anyway. It was clean, very modern and the bathroom/shower was lovely. Bizarrely though the shower had frosted glass that could be made transparent at the flick of a switch so you could see into the shower from the room. Obviously not intended for a dad and his young son! We also had a great view of the Shard. Checking was quick and friendly. When I asked about breakfast I was told that the wee man could eat free and I was also given a discount for paying the two mornings in advance. £30 for two days breakfast for two in the middle of London isn't really bad at all. The location is great, two minutes walk from Southwark Underground Station and walking distance from the London Eye. In the other direction it's not far from the Shard. We went up it. It's expensive but the views are worth it! All in all this will be the first place I'll look for next time I'm in London, the wee guy agrees heartilly!

Upscale hotelPosted Jun 12, 2015
Breakfast food was delicious. Some have complained about the glass wall between bedroom and shower. We traveled with my niece and this was not an issue. At the touch of a button, the glass wall turns from clear to frosted. Silhouettes not an issue. We arrived early in the morning and our room was not yet ready so the staff stored our luggage in a secure room in the lobby.
