Great location, Pricey meals!

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: location, 2 second walk to DLR and other shops and cafes
Cons: Bedding - Bed and Pillows
Location: Next to DLR and some shops and restaurants, but still very quiet
The location was perfect and just what we wanted, as we were in London to see Lee Evans at the O2. The staff were very helpful and polite. The price of a breakfast was disappointing, £20 each, plus an extra £3 if you wanted it in your room. We therefore went to a cafe approx. 300 yards down the street for breakfast at a quarter of the price! The beds were so uncomfortable, rock hard and 2 tiny pillows. We did find 1 extra pillow and I guess we could have requested extra, but after getting back to our room at midnight, we just wanted to sleep! Overall, ok, but I wouldn't stay here again because of the bedding, it's a shame as that was the only thing we wanted to be great, understandable for a 1 night stay I think.

Cons: More staff on reception, check in & check out process very slow
Enjoyable weekend stay with great friends. We felt the receptionist was rude answering the phone whilst processing our check in

Novotel Hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Good position. Modern. Pleasant staff. Not expensive. Close to trains and buses.
Cons: Room at front of hotel - traffic and people noise till early hours but Tall Ships Festival that was possibly the reason. Maybe back rooms quieter.
Location: Good location close to DLR station. Shortish walk to river; Cutty Sark; Greenwich Park; Royal Observatory; Maritime Museum; etc.
We stayed here for the Tall Ships festival in September. Had a good stay overall - though staff member we spoke to had no information about the festival although she was pleasant enough. It was convenient, good value for money and we would recommend it. We didn't eat there as there are a number of other places within easy walking distance on the way into the town which were less expensive - especially for breakfast - so can't comment on the food.

Good location, except that it is far from LHR.

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: It is quite far from the Heathrow Airport. It will be great if the hotel can offer airport shuttle service with a good price.
Location: Very close to the downtown of Greenwich and 15 mins away from the London Bridge Tube station.
It is located just next to the Greenwich train station.

Free upgrade

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: The closeness to the rail station was excellent and Greenwich is a nice area of London.
Cons: I wish the free coffee hadn't been of the instant variety. Would've liked a drip coffee machine. There was an espresso maker.
Location: Can walk pretty easily to Greenwich Park which has the Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory, and Greenwich University.
I was very pleased with the free room upgrade. This was given to me from the start. The room manager was very friendly and polite. The room I was in initially had a problem with the shower. I had to move to a new room. Both rooms were very quiet. I did not hear the trains very much, the first room was on that side. I could hear the trains very faintly. The 2nd room was on the street side and I didn't hear the trains at all.

Novotel great location for Greenwich

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Location and comfort.
Cons: The breakfast buffet area was a bit crowded and could have been spread out to a larger area.
Location: Close to all the tourist spots around Greenwich including the naval college, the observatory and the Cutty Sark.
Stayed here one night and very impressed with close location to all the tourist spots in Greenwich. A few good pubs only a few yards away and surprisingly quiet considering it was right next to Greenwich station.

Highly recommended

High quality hotel with very helpful staff. The kids were given small toys at check in which was a nice touch and exemplifies the general attitude of the place. It's a little far out from the central attractions but well connected and there is lots to do in the surrounding area anyway. Breakfast was very good and worth including. Highly recommended for a short family break.
