“Better than I expected”

I spent one night at the hotel in March 2011 on my way to Oxford. I exceeded my expectations. Frankly, I was expecting a mediocre experience, or a dump, and it was instead very nice. My room looked like it had been renovated in the last few years. The bathroom in my single room was clean and new. The bed was comfortable and the flat screen TV had more channels than the hotel I stayed at in Oxford. Tea, coffee and bisquits in my room were an unexpected bonus. Visitors from the U.S. must adjust to the fact that English hotel rooms are generally smaller than what Americans are used to. If you can get over that mental hump, you will enjoy your stay. The room was small, but very nice. The neighborhood was nice and quiet with shops and restaurants right around the corner. It is convenient to Paddington Station and Hyde Park, with a subway stop near the hotel. Although it was a long walk, I walked to Picadilly Circus and Leicster Square and Westminster Abbey. There are cheap places to eat at Paddington Station, as well as a Starbucks. I was confused in that you have to check in across the street at the Best Western office, even though the hotel is called the Paddington Suites. There is no "front desk" for the Paddington Suites. I am glad to say that this was not a disappointment or a horror story. In fact, it was very nice. I recommend it.

“Nice location”

Hotel was nice. Clean and good location. Lots of small shops to pick up a good bfast and hot cup of coffee/tea. Neighbourhood is filled with life, although considered by many in Mayfair as a bit 'rough'. I love the dynamics of the different cultures in the neighbourhood and traditional shops that one can not find in other boring parts of London! Neighbourhood is less expensive so works out perfect for small businesses like ourselves.

“Tiny room close to Paddington Station”

I think the overall value of the hotel for the price was good. I wanted a hotel close by Paddington Station that wasn't too expensive but was decent and not too old or run-down and I acheived that goal. The hotel was less than 5 minute walk to Paddington in a nice, quiet neighborhood with a number of restaurants nearby. The hotel lobby was clean and contemporary with a bar. The room was the tiniest room I have EVER seen by any major city standards but the bathroom was completely redone and very nice and while the twin bed barely fit into the room, a flat screen tv with free internet was available. Wall coverings and linens, lamps in bedroom could have more updated, but the value for the hotel overal was good.

“close to paddington”

great location close to Paddington Station. Small grocery store around the corner. Room was small but ok . Bathroom set up was weird. Shower does not have ledge and no tub. When you take shower the entire bathroom floor was wet. Kind of annoying. Breakfast was included and buffet style but very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.
