“Location”
Location of hotel is half a block from Hyde Park. Two blocks down was the underground or about 15 min walk in other direction you could be at Paddington Station. hotel was nice but I think I got the short stick when it came to getting a room. I called it the 'servant's quarters'. I was roomie, but in the basement, had a tiny window that let in no light. And when I did open it for fresh air I could constantly hear the humming noise of something like an air conditioner. When I went to try and change my room after a nap, the lady at the counter was a bit rude when she told me I had to do that in the morning. Breakfast was free and great. They offered the traditional english breakfast, had cereal, toast, fruit, coffe, tea, orange juice and apple juice. Overall it was a great hotel I just managed to get a bad room. I would stay there again but ask for something above ground next time.
“Been there MANY times”
I have been staying at the Queens Park for over 10 years and will continue to do so. I love the new lobby/breakfast update AND the Full English breakfast AND to the staff were very helpful. GREAT location!
“OK for the Price, Bad Location”
Far from the Underground/Tube, which is how most tourists would get there. My walk was about 15 minutes with two heavy suitcases. There is a closer stop, but hotel personel did not know about it (foreign staff). The hotel does not have phones in the rooms, nor pay phones anywheres outside. If you are nice the receptionist will make a local call for you (bring the number - as phonebook not necessarily available...I had to ask three persons to get one). Bus lines ARE nearby to Marble Arch and PIcadilly.
“A HOT experience”
From the time I checked in, they told me that the Internet connection was not working...and from the way they presented it I had no hope if it being a minor glitch that they will resolve quickly. As for the room - it was very small even by London standards, and with the lack of AC, the room was like a sauna in the night. Could not sleep at all due to the heat in the room. Became intolerable and I checked out and moved into another hotel nearby. Would not recommend this hotel especially for business travelers.
“Small Room, but clean & great service!”
Elevator only had room for 1 person and 1 suitcase (at least it had an elevator). Room was small but typical of hotels in London(I have had much smaller). Service was fantastic, super friendly!!!! Close to Queensway Underground station and only a ten minute walk from Paddinton Station. Over all I would stay here again, was a great value!
“Awful Stay”
Upon arrival at the Queens Park Hotel we soon realized that the hotel looked nothing as it looked on its website. Our room was extremely small and very uncomfortable. Our sheets were dirty and we had to sleep on top of the comforter. Also there was construction going on in the rooms around us so we heard constant banging. They were remodeling rooms on our floor. They staff didn't even make us aware of the construction going on which starting at approx. 8 am. Overall an awful stay.
“Nice location - Low key rooms...”
The building is an old house that needs a LOT of maintenance. The location was good, a 10 minute walk to Paddington Station, and in a Street with virtually no traffic it was silent. However the room was not nice at all! No airconditioning, smell of humidity, dirty carpet, etc. To put it simple, the furniture has not been changed the last 50 years!
“Friendly staff, great location, rooms need renovation”
The staff was cordial and helpful. We were given a room on the top floor. Unlucky for us that the elevator was in the process of being fixed. Also, unfortunately, the room was in very poor repair. There were gouges in the wall and parts of the molding was missing. The mattress was old enough that it was actually lumpy. (I don't recommend staying here if you are picky about the quality of the bed.) Most disturbing, however, was the cleanliness of the ledge on the outside of the building (only visible from our floor). It was covered in litter ranging from empty soda cups to used condoms. Clearly the cleaning staff never looked out the windows. On the other hand, the room itself was very clean, and the hotel is in a very nice location near a tube stop, Kensington Gardens, and many other hotels. You get what you pay for and nothing more.
“Great Location, Good Price”
We wanted to stay near Hyde Park and tube stations, so the Queens Park was ideal. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. We had no view, but we were not in the room much. Breakfast was provided and it was very basic but satisfactory. Our bathroom looked like it had been renovated recently and was nice. We will stay at the Queens Park again.
“Sad surprise”
Location is good but the room booked as "twin bed" did not have any comfort. The room was located in the basement with small windows very high at roof level. No bedside light/lamp, only lights in the roof, switch of which located far from the bed in the entry. TV mounted on the wall but no remote control. The room should be categorized as "low cost, economy, budget" or something similar to correlate with room outfit in order to prevent negative surprises.
