Nice hotel, convenient for Excel centre and city

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Pleasant rooms with good comfortable beds and all required facilities (but shower only which is fine for me). Good food in restaurant and room service
Location: The hotel is a little out of the way, but is easy to get to by road and has a good public transport link to the rest of the city.
What's not to like? Although it is not in a pleasant green place, the Ramada is convenient for the Excel Centre and City Airport and is close to the DLR to get up into the city and the underground network. Internally, the hotel offers good facilities with a pleasant bar and a restaurant that provides really good Italian style food. Room service is also good with a wide variety of dishes available. All in all, for the price in London, this hotel offers really good value and I will bear it in mind for future trips. Just don't expect it to be in the centre of things, because it isn't!

Good hotel, shame about the entertainment

Posted Mar 18, 2014
It's a nice hotel. Clean, good food. Unfortunately the free wifi was slow to the point of unusability and the cable TV was meager, unless you want "adult" movies.

Perfect Location for events at Excel

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: The hotel was a wow the restaurant was lovely very fine dining and the location was great for a peaceful london getaway, with close DLR access.
Cons: Check in was awful! We felt like we were on a factory line she didn't explain why she wanted our card and we felt like an inconvenience to her workday
Location: Excel is the main attraction here
The hotel was easy to find and we were lucky to get a free space in front of the hotel, as these are limited but there is 'pay and display' spaces at the rear. We have a clear view of london city airport runway, which was no issue at all as it was quite enjoyable watching planes come in and go out and they did stop late at night. The room was very standard and very beige! Also in need of a few finishing touches, like the end of the hair dryer was loose and fell off multiple times and the bathroom door had half paint work missing, but the room was pleasing as it was low cost and for only one night, but just those little extra touches to make it feel lovely were in need. A corner shop is needed. There was no where to get snacks or drink apart from the hotel, maybe this is their plan, the prices are very costly so we recommend taking some food and drink especially with you for your stay. Overall the staff were friendly and over accommodating some more than others and we would return however those little touches were missing in the room.

Nice stay

A nice 2 day stay, good location to travel from and nice views from the hotel window! Only issue is there aren't any local shops right near by! A good 20 minute walk to a local shop.

Nice hotel convenient to DLR

Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, close to DLR station, nice restaurant on site
Cons: Location is pretty far from main tourist attractions. Decor could use updating.
Location: Close to DLR station but must transfer to London Underground to visit any tourist attractions. A few minutes from Canary Wharf for restaurants.
The hotel was a nice hotel targeted to business travelers. The rooms were simple but clean and having a bar and restaurant onsite was nice. There's also an ATM in the lobby and the front desk was willing to exchange small amounts of cash for British pounds. Overall, it was a nice stay for a few nights but might not be the most comfortable for a longer visit.

Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Nice big breakfasts.
Cons: Nuts in the bar very pricey!
Location: 4-5 minute walk from the DLR Railway and tube. 15 minutes from the West End. Try the Emirates Cable Car 2 stops away at Royal Victoria. Spectacular!
