“Great Value for London”
I have stayed here 3 times. I love the cleanliness, the quiet and the staff. The rooms can be small, I was there for 5 nights this time and had to unpack carefully and store my bags to have enough room. Like all up market hotels they charge stupid prices for Internet access and high prices for breakfast but there are easy solutions to these. Good area if you shop and not far from the subway system and the park.
“Excellent hotel”
Nice location Excellent service Great view
“Wonderful Stay”
Beautiful, well situated hotel with extremely accommodating staff. Would definitely stay again!
“Greatest place to live at if exploring London City”
This is a nice 5 star hotel. Recently refurbished. Rooms are larger than normal European hotel rooms. Bathroom was like Ceasar's palace suite. Service and cleaning staff was great. We had a 4 year old who used the sofabed to sleep and the hotel staff would come to convert it every day and night. Only issue I had was that wireless internet was not free and telephone calls were very expensive to make from the room. The hotel has 2 excelling restaurants. The 10-floor Chinese restaurant is good but over-priced. The ground floor Park Place is one of the best restaurants in London. Great food and excellent service. Rooms are cool and more control over temperature would be nice. Overall, if you are there to explore London and then have a goodnight's rest - this is it!
“Not a 5-star”
While the hotel itself is pretty good, the prices they charge is on the order of robbery. Every tiny thing is associated with some insane charge -- there is no free Internet for the guests staying in the hotel (other hotels we stayed at during our trip all gave us free Internet access). Even using the business center briefly requires extra payment. Local calls from the hotel is not free either. While the hot chocolate and tea/instant coffee are free, the housekeeper does not replenish the supply during daily cleaning. Everything else -- even for a tiny jar of M&M's -- all cost an arm and a leg (unjustifiably so). Definitely need to be careful in this hotel and read the fine print to avoid these hidden charges.
“impressed”
Only negative was the strong smell of smoke coming from adjoining rooms into my nonsmoking room. Otherwise can't say enough how much I enjoyed staing there
“High-end Palace in Great Kensington Area of London”
A very nice choice for our first stay in London to attend a concert at Royal Albert Hall; there were many other guests who were doing the same. The hotel is actually in walking distance to RAH, and is situated in the upscale Kensington area, directly on its main drag, Kensington High. There are many stores and restaurants within a few blocks, including, remarkably, a Whole Foods supermarket and a TJ Maxx (or TK Maxx as its called in the U.K.). Would definitely stay there again, which to me is the mark of a quality choice in hotels for either business or holiday. However, a few negatives: the cost for internet service/wi-fi is prohibitive, running - as I recall - as high as 20 pounds for a day (about $32), with a lower 2-hour option. Also, the price of simple Continental breakfast was 19 pounds ($30 or so each person). Much easier and economical, unless your on a busines expense account, to travel along KH St. for lesser priced alternatives. But the hotel is definitely not one for budget travelers. Overall a great stay and selection.
“Location, Location, Location”
Wonderful hotel in a great Location in Edinburgh. We could walk to everything in the city with lots of Cafe's and restaurants nearby.
“Kensington Palace as a neighbour!”
Wonderful place, staff was fantastic. Great recommendations for eats within walking distance, be sure to ask as these are out of the way but fantastic. Be sure to walk along "billionaires row" and marvel at the mansions on your way back to the hotel from a local pub. Underground is close and the only down side is that it is a bit away from the center of London. Nothing that a subway or bus ride can't fix. Would stay there again!
“Good place, good location”
The room was a bit small but the bathroom size was good. The bathroom was really clean and updated with strong water pressure. The Internet service was 20 pounds per day so it was really expensive. The room service was horrible - French toast, omelet, and even the coffee. I recommend that you go out to Starbucks across the street to pickup a fresh brewed coffee.
