“Rooms to small, beds not comfortable”
Room was to small felt very cramped!
“Hardly professional”
As it turns out, under construction means the following: fire alarms every 40 minutes, even BEFORE the stated work hours of 8-4, water being shut off until 4, then that shut-off being extended to 6, then people from reception going door-to-door at 9pm to find out if the water is on, then Internet access being taken away with no alternative, and finally, a ceiling that began dripping when the guy above took a long shower. When I complained, they stood there and merely said, I'm sorry...sorry. Expedia should have told you we were under construction. Way to pass the buck. The location is fantastic, to be sure, but there are a TON of hotels on the same corner. I highly suggest the Radisson that is there. A bit more pricey, but free Wi-fi, gym, larger beds, etc. My suggestion is you go with any of your other options in that area - especially given its proximity to the parks and to the tube.
“Was not a good experience...”
The hotel is few meters nearby the metro station and it was great. My room had a similarity with a match box, "nothing" related to the web site photos and the heat was extremely high even turning it off inside the room. The crew at reception was the second worst issue at this hotel. The breakfast was fine and the vicinity was great.
“Small room”
We stayed on a four day vacation. The hotel was old with a Victoria feel. It was clean but needs refreshing. Our room was tiny. We had about 1.5 feet on each side of the bed and maybe 2 feet at the base from walls or furniture. You can do little in this room other than use the bed and toilet. If you are not there to spend time in the room it will be fine. If you plan to spend any time in your hotel room, find a larger room. The hotel lobby was nice and it had a lounge for about 6 people to sit (few did). There were two computers to rent (I think one pound for 10 mins). The restaurant was decent (10 tables - actual name if I remember right). The hotel was in a good location and had a small pub attached. The train station was about half a block away and that was very convenient. Hyde Park was a close walk. A Catholic Church was across the street. Museums and Imperial College were all within a short walking distance. Because of the room size, I rated it low. All else is fine.
“Very nice but won't stay there again”
Beautiful and clean. The ONLY thing that concerns me is that my room was slanted. Being that many of the buildings in London are hundreds of years old, this made me very nervous. The staff is great and very helpful.
