London Hotel at good location at good pricePosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: It is a nice looking London Hotel - with very modern rooms - everything ran smoothly - pricing was good - easy 100m walk to the underground...
Cons: I have to say nothing stands out...
Location: Well located - we eat out locally at first before venturing into city - enjoyed everything Kensington has to offer - the whole area looks like London!
Fully enjoyed this hotel - well located near tube station as we were caught in rain - wonderful facilities - and well priced... Came in from Paris on Eurostar with a bit of luggage but it was easy to find on the tube - had two days of shopping round the Piccadilly Circus area which we fully enjoyed and was surprised at how reasonably priced clothes were considering the location - went to Covent Garden to enjoy the relaxed entertainment / café culture - jumped on a tour bus and did a 4 hour trip round the main attractions which was well worth it - would advise anyone to do this - just great not to drive - get on the top deck on the bus and take your camera...

Brilliant hotel in a wonderful location.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Everything. Especially location and staff. Very spacious, comfortable rooms with very good air conditioning. Staff were very helpful & friendly.
Cons: Pretty well perfect...only thing, and it's only a small thing, the WiFi signal wasn't very strong and kept dropping out. But otherwise, brilliant.
Location: Location perfect. Tube, shops, supermarket, pharmacy, Post Office, Tourist Info, cafés, restaurants all across road. Kensington Gdns short walk away.
Had a wonderful stay here...across the road from tube station. Supermarket and shops across the road. Kensington Gardens a short walk away. Lots of cafés and restaurants in easy walking distance. Absolutely perfect :):):)

Don't go here, Terrible Service, Terrible Staff !Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The Front Office Manager and all the rest of the staff at this hotel are terrible.
Cons: Train your restaurant staff, the minimum is that they are friendly and accommodating. Train the Front office staff to be customer-oriented.
Its the worst hotel experience ever. I had paid for my room in full before arrival through an online booking. When I arrived, I was still asked to provide a cc or put down a cash deposit upon arrival , for extras. I didn't need any extras and told them that if I needed any, I would pay-as -i go. All hotels have a system of not giving credit so I asked them to do that, after all I knew I was not going to be using anything there. There was a Mediterranean looking dude with a strong accent, supposedly the Front Office Manager, who refused to check me in. I had to find an ATM to get £50. When I returned, he said its actually £150, £50 per each night. I told him the £50 is all I had, and again he could empty the minibar if they were concerned I was going to drink it up. Mind you, my room was FULLY prepaid, yet he was insistent that it was hotel policy for damages and incidentals. This guy harassed me for the rest of my stay, every time I passed in the lobby or went to the gym he was following me asking me for another £100 deposit. Fine about hotel policy but the WAY in which this guy was enforcing it was both uncomfortable and awkward. I have never seen a 4 * star hotel staff behave in this unprofessional way. It was totally unacceptable. I would never stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone.

Great LocationPosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. Clean
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: All the museums - they are free which was great. Kennsington Palace all the gardens, memorials and great shopping. Bus and Subway station.
The Hotel is in a great spot for all the main tours and buses. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area ranging from traditional pubs, Indian foods, Italian, and North American. There is also a great boutique grocery store across the road. The rooms were a little tight as their double bed is actually a single. All in all is was a great time. We used a cab company called Great Britain Car that was about 40 pounds less than the other cabs. They have a website and were on time for the schedule times.

Close to tube stations.Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Smaller with no fuss.
Cons: Pillow choice and blankets rather than doonas.
Location: Just a short walk from good shopping and the park. Handy to the tube to go most places.
Good location to visit London. Take a taxi to St Pancras for the tunnel crossing if you have a large suitcase.

Great location in KensingtonPosted Jul 14, 2014
Location: Walking distance to Victoria & Albert Museum, Museum of Natural History, Imperial College, Harrods, many restaurants and pubs
I stayed one night at the Rydges in a single room which turned out to be a less than 150SqFt space with a single bed. With the suitcase on the floor, there was hardly room to move around. It felt more like a college dorm room. The bathroom was equally small with a tiny sink an a shelf above it that would not allow you to wash your face without bumping your head on the shelf or flooding the floor with soap-suds. That said, the room was very clean and extremely quiet despite facing on to Gloucester Road and near the intersection with busy Cromwell Road. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel does have a restaurant but I did not use it. The price of this hotel is driven by its location in Kensington, less than a 5 minute walk to the underground and within walking distance of the museums. There are other hotels within the vicinity of Gloucester Road and Earl's court that may offer better value for money.
