comfort and convenient

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: good location, stylish interior, friendly staff, comfort, good value.
Cons: computer/keyboards in ground floor lobby need up-dating, very annoying to use.
Location: close to Gloucester Road tube, easy walk to S. Ken, High St Ken, Hyde Park, Museums, Knightsbridge, Earls Court exhibition. many restaurants.
arrived at 9-00 am and was given room before 2-00 pm check in which was really appreciated. room very clean, comfortable with all facilities. no internet charges for using 2 computers available in lobby. pleasant Polo bar with friendly staff. will try and stay again.

Great Location

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. Clean
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: All the museums - they are free which was great. Kennsington Palace all the gardens, memorials and great shopping. Bus and Subway station.
The Hotel is in a great spot for all the main tours and buses. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area ranging from traditional pubs, Indian foods, Italian, and North American. There is also a great boutique grocery store across the road. The rooms were a little tight as their double bed is actually a single. All in all is was a great time. We used a cab company called Great Britain Car that was about 40 pounds less than the other cabs. They have a website and were on time for the schedule times.

Close to tube stations.

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Smaller with no fuss.
Cons: Pillow choice and blankets rather than doonas.
Location: Just a short walk from good shopping and the park. Handy to the tube to go most places.
Good location to visit London. Take a taxi to St Pancras for the tunnel crossing if you have a large suitcase.

Great location in Kensington

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Quiet
Location: Walking distance to Victoria & Albert Museum, Museum of Natural History, Imperial College, Harrods, many restaurants and pubs
I stayed one night at the Rydges in a single room which turned out to be a less than 150SqFt space with a single bed. With the suitcase on the floor, there was hardly room to move around. It felt more like a college dorm room. The bathroom was equally small with a tiny sink an a shelf above it that would not allow you to wash your face without bumping your head on the shelf or flooding the floor with soap-suds. That said, the room was very clean and extremely quiet despite facing on to Gloucester Road and near the intersection with busy Cromwell Road. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel does have a restaurant but I did not use it. The price of this hotel is driven by its location in Kensington, less than a 5 minute walk to the underground and within walking distance of the museums. There are other hotels within the vicinity of Gloucester Road and Earl's court that may offer better value for money.

A great base for Kensington and Chelsea.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The staff .
Cons: A bath would have been good .
Location: Great for Kensington and Chelsea . Also near Albert Hall , NH Museum and the V&A. Only a fifteen minute stroll to Harrods !
Staff very efficient and friendly. The full English breakfast was amongst the best I've ever had. Room( Executive) was spacious and comfortable with a great bed . Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Perfect location

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Location: We went to Wimbledon one day, shopping the next, and arrived and left from King's Cross, this was perfectly postioned on all the relevant tube lines
I read in other reviews this was a 2 minute walk from the tube station- a gross over-exaggeration- is about 30 seconds. Perfect location. Rooms small- typical of a London hotel, but clean and modern. Didn't take breakfast there so can't comment on much else really, but no complaints. Nice toiletries, and good to get shampoo and separate conditioner rather than the usual combined!

Not the luxury that it would like you to believe!

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Quality of finish/detail in bedrooms
Felt that overall it tries to pretend to be something it isn't, but you don't have to dig deep to see the flaws in the bedrooms.
