Area good for facilitiesPosted Apr 27, 2015
Hotel staff very abrupt when there is a problem trying to book in ? left feeling that we were not good enough to stay there. No apology or welcome when the problem had been sorted out. This I felt was very poor. Won't use them again

Stayed for 2 weeks on business and was very happyPosted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: It's made up of renovated town houses so the layout can be a little strange, and the buildings interiors vary, but I thought it was a great place
Location: Great location, street level pubs, restaurants, and convenience stores without needing to walk far. less than 10 minute walk to Paddington Station
Staff was always very helpful, friendly, and prompt. Will recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel close to Paddington StationPosted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Close to Paddington Station
Cons: Shower curtain instead of the half swinging door, which made it hard to keep the water in the shower.
Location: Very close to Paddington Station which made it easy to get to all sights.
Awesome hotel close to Paddington Station which got us all over the city very easy. Staff very friendly.

Beware When Leaving Your Bags with ReceptionPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: The girls at the reception were very nice and pleasant.
Cons: When 2 people are in a room, need to have a bit bigger room so they are not on top of each other.
Location: The location is very convenient. Within a 10 minute walking distances from 2 tube stations. 5 minute walk to Hyde Park.
When I am in London, I always have stayed at the BW Shaftesbury Paddington Court London Hotel. I was surprised when I checked in and was told it is no longer affiliated with Best Western. When asked why, the answer given was really not an answer. Our room was okay, although smaller than the room I had the previous stay with the hotel. It was located across the street from the reception - which was okay, but for 2 people, you could not even move in the room. I was not impressed. Also, the window would not stay up and the room was very warm. All of the above I dealt with - the one thing I will not tolerate is someone going thru my luggage. I and my party stored our bags with the concierge so that we could go around town because we had a late flight out that day. When we came back to retrieve our bags, I noticed someone had been thru my bag. Also, one of my travelling companions noticed someone had been thru his bag as well. This is the reason I will not recommend this hotel to my friends. When leaving bags with reception/concierge, you expect them to be safe.

DreadfulPosted Apr 19, 2015
The hotel is in the middle of major refurbishment which no one highlighted during the booking - no lift (room was on the third floor) and it was building site. Dreadful 2 nights sleep: Reception staff dialled the wrong number and woke me up at 8 on the first morning then building noise started at 8.30. Second night a drunk woman woke us up at 3 am shouting trying to get into one of the rooms nearby. On the second morning cleaning staff woke us up talking loudly outside our room at 9am. Lock on the door didn't work. Intermittent hot water in the sink. Bed was tiny.

Tight, but Right.Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, location, cost and location
Cons: stretch the room just a little
Location: Hyde and Kensignton Park are 5 minutes away, 20 to Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, bycicle rental right out front to use the London bike paths.
Although this is a very small room and even smaller bathroom, it was all we needed. The staff was great and the location couldn't be better. 5 minute walk to Paddington Station, Hyde Park or Lancaster Gate Tube. So many different choices to eat in the area and walking distance to So many London Attractions on the north side of the River Thames.

Good location/clean hotelPosted Apr 11, 2015
Hotel needs an elevator - too many steep stairways to negotiate to get to our room. I would have liked for our room to have a full bath instead of just a shower. Our room was small. Adequate but small. My major complaint: I specificall reserved twin beds since I was traveling with my daughter. Our first room had a double bed. While the problem was rectified immediately and politely, it remains irritating to arrive after a full day of travel and not to have the accommodations which I requested.
