Nice Hotel 10 mins walk to nearest tube stationPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Value for money. Location. Excellent staff.
Location: Handy for local conveniences, restaurants, supermarkets and transport links.
Nice clean room with comfortable clean bed. Key card to room didn't always work which was a minor issue. Be aware that bathroom facilities are separate to some rooms, but this will be stated when booking. Continental breakfast was very good. Hotel was only 10 minutes walk to nearest tube station Victoria. Great value Hotel for a short break in London.

Noisy roomPosted Dec 1, 2013
I don't normally write reviews but my stay was pretty horrible. On checking in I was told that I would not actually stay in the sheriff hotel but the grapevine hotel next door. I assume it's the same owner and similar in quality. The hotel was the usual for this price class in London, needed restauration badly but at least it was clean. However, my room was next to a water boiler or something similar, which, throughout the whole night, would go into roaring action about hourly. The noise level was unacceptable, even at this price class!

Good value and a short walk to Victoria StationPosted Nov 21, 2013
This hotel is a typical budget class hotel. It was very clean and had all the amenities you would want. The room I wasn't in was very small and a little hard to navigate with luggage but the bathroom was a good size and very nice. It is nothing plush but I would recommend and probably stay here again if needing a hotel in this area.

Nice hotelPosted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Quiet, variety of tv channels, wifi and bathroom.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: It was about a 10 minute walk to Victoria station which is the closest tube and rail station. Near some of the theaters.
The hotel room was very clean and well appointed. The room was a little small but the bathroom was very nice. I was in a single room and I don't know how big the other rooms. The room also had a nice flat screen television with many cable channels and free wifi. The room was also very quiet.

Decent hotel, walking distance to Victoria StationPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Proximity to Victoria Station, and cleanliness of the room.
Cons: The internet, and making sure the televisions are all working.
Location: Near Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace.
The hotel is easy to find from Victoria Station and about a 7 minute walk. If you have a lot of luggage it may not be ideal, but I had 3 bags with me and found it to be okay as the route is pretty flat with wide sidewalks. My room was on the second floor which required more stairs than I would have liked with all the bags, but again, not a huge deal if you are fit enough to do this. There is no lift, so if this is an issue, then I would rule this one out. The television didn't work and by the time I noticed, the staff at the hotel were unable to fix it, so I went without which didn't really bother me, but is an indication of the state of the place. They did have free internet, but it was extremely slow - so not much use other than to check emails, and patientlyyyyy....yyyy surf the internet. The room was clean and the bed was okay which for one night was fine for the price - London is not a cheap place to stay, and so this hotel seemed a decent tradeoff between price and comfort. The main reason I chose it was that I needed to get to catch the Gatwick Express the next morning - and it was well situated for this.

Downtown LondonPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: private bath in our room
This was our first trip to London. This hotel was very affordable and only three blocks from the subways, buses, trains, coaches and rental car drop off. The hotel provided a complimentary breakfast including oatmeal. Our room was small and our bathroom, although only available for us, was located down the stairs. The room and the bath were very clean. The staff were pleasant. We were very pleased with the location and price, considering we were in downtown London.

Excellent value for moneyPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Good location and value for money
Cons: Wifi reception was a bit flakey and some of the fixtures and fittings in the dining area could be improved. Softer closing on the doors would be good.
Location: Good for Victoria station and nearby theaters (notably for 'Wicked'). Just a short walk away from the Tate Britain.
A seemingly recently refurbished hotel in an excellent location about 5 minutes walk from Victoria train station. The continental breakfast was adequate and the en-suite single room condition was modern and clean although it was on the small side. The free wifi was useful, although reception was a bit flakey. Given it is a converted house then noise from other rooms and slamming doors is to be expected unfortunately. If you are looking for a room with a decent location at a reasonable price this may be a good choice.
