“High quality, super convenient airport hotel”
The hotel is right next to the rental car return in the North Terminal and a very short covered walk, towing your wheeled suitcase, to check-in. Rooms are modern and very clean and comfortable. In-room kettle, coffee and tea. If you don't want a restaurant meal, get food from M&S convenience store in arrivals - it has a very good selection. Gatwick used to be a terrible airport to leave from, but with an on-site hotel and BA's refurbished departure hall it's all very easy. We will use the hotel next time we travel to UK.
“most convenient for Gatwick travellers”
A very convenient hotel for those using Gatwick Airport, London. In fact it is connected with it. Hotel is clean and modern but a bit 'cool' in service.
“Excellent Hotel for the Night before a Flight”
I'd stayed at the Sofitel Gatwick before and knew it was exceptionally comfortable, but I was most impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. While on vacation I had an injury that temporarily limited my mobility. I wasn't aware of the services that the airport provided for temporarily disabled passengers; one of the assistants at the concierge desk not only told me about it, but arranged wheelchair service for me not only from the hotel to Gatwick, but also at my connecting flight in Charlotte, NC. I'm very grateful not only to the airport for providing this service, but to the hotel staff member for telling me about it and arranging it for me. I would have had a much more painful homeward journey without his help.
“Best option for overnight at Gatwick”
Located an easy 5 minute walk from North Terminal arrivals this is the best option for overnight at Gatwick. Room was relatively small but high standard, clean and modern.
“All I had hoped for”
I chose this airport hotel for its convenience, and it certainly fulfilled that expectation. Easy access to rail service made it possible to take interesting journeys on both days of the weekend I was there. Unfortunately, I was suffering from a bad cold that greatly diminished my enjoyment; but I maintained my planned schedule and found the warmth and comfort of the hotel a great help.
“Very Impressed”
The location is perfect, arriving in the evening it is excellent not having to leave the Airport, the beds are the best I have slept in.
“Excellent Hotel if travelling through Gatwick!”
Positives: This hotel is very clean and either well-maintained or fairly new. It is connected to Gatwick's North Terminal which is excellent; no need to mess with shuttles to catch your flight. The staff was friendly. We also tried the Asian restaurant in the hotel which was surprisingly good! Negatives: I hesitate calling this a 'negative' because this could be a 'positive' depending on your preference. However, for someone like me who has a bad back, the mattress in the hotel was a bit too soft and didn't give me the support I needed. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely stay here again if we have another early morning flight from Gatwick!
“Don't Nickel and Dime Me”
The best thing about this hotel is proximity to Gatwick, to which it is connected. I stayed here rather than a hotel 1/3 the price but 2km away because I had a really early flight. The worst is that nothing is included. It's seemingly contradictory, but the more these hotels charge, the less you get - so Internet is extra and there's no coffee pot in the room, so if you want a cup of Joe in the AM, it's either the restaurant or the airport. I choose the latter. To be fair, the bed and room was excellent, the hotel beautiful and I got a great night's sleep and breezed through airport security at 6:30 AM, which really made it all worthwhile. I just got a bad taste in my mouth when the first thing I get asked upon check-in is if I want to use the Internet, which will cost even more. Next time I'll try the Hilton, which costs the same and includes internet and a coffee pot.
“Not impressed”
The bed was very comfortable, but the staff were not very helpful. There was no indication that breakfast was a single charge for the full buffet only and I had to pay a (somewhat reduced but still exorbitant charge) of 10 pounds 50 pence for a plain bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee.
“Just what we were hoping for”
We had just arrived from a 12 hour journey and we were looking for a quiet place to refresh and relax before meeting up with friends in Salisbury. It turned out to be perfect. We had a room facing the garden and it was beautiful. The room was spacious and clean. Although the bathroom renovations appear to be relatively new, there were plumbing issues when you turn on the tap. It was difficult to regulate the water pressure so, unless you were careful, the water would come rushing out of the tap and splash all over you when you turn it on. Also, the water temp in the shower was almost impossible to regulate and we ended up with the hottest shower that we've ever had. The bathroom was very clean but there were signs of mold on the ceiling. This is probably due to the high volumes of steam from the hot showers. I don't think an extractor fan could handle that much steam. All in all, it was a nice stay.
