Convenient and ComfortablePosted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: All of it
Cons: Couldn't find a way to do express check out on the hotel information pages of their TV system.....
I stayed one night, arriving from Gatwick at midnight and leaving at 8am the following morning to fly home to Los Angeles. The hotel is connected by walkway to T5 (so great for all British Airways flights), and the room was large, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were great (and since all I really needed was a hot shower, a good nights sleep and easy check in to my next flight.......it was perfect). The Vivre buffet was good for breakfast - a little overpriced (but no more than any other airport or resort hotel buffet), and the staff attentive, with good choices on the food, and a very clean, pleasant environment.

Fabulous overnightPosted Nov 11, 2014
Stayed overnight to break journey on a long flight. Hotel staff were friendly and considerate. Got an early check-in and had probably one of the best nights sleep in a hotel ever. Very quiet comfortable, clean room.

Nice location-But overrated!Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: The location and the room. Very quiet and the room was very comfortable with fine toiletries, robes, slippers...
Cons: Restaurant and personnel.
Location: Conveniently located. Connected to terminal 5 in London Heathrow airport.
The hotel is conveniently located. The check in staff was friendly but not adequately efficient. For example, our flight was late getting in and we needed to have dinner. The check in person told us the restaurant was closing and we could get room service. My husband went to the restaurant and we were able to sit down and have plenty of time to have dinner there. He also recommended we take a taxi the following morning to catch our flight in another terminal. The cab was going to cost more than $30. We then came to find out that there was a free express train shuttle that got to our terminal in less than 15 minutes. The main restaurant is adequate. It has a fancy French name, but it's nothing more than a plain eatery. The service was slow and not very attentive. The price of the meal, very expensive.

Nice hotel, very convenient location at HeathrowPosted Nov 10, 2014
A very convenient upscale hotel for a stopover in London. Well kept, clean, with nice touches. About 40 min/$10 by subway from London Center. I enjoyed my stay after (and before) a long flight

Not meeting standardsPosted Nov 6, 2014
For a luxury hotel of the Sofitel chain you expect a lot, and with these prices, you pay for a lot. I've stayed here before and loved it. This time I was disappointed. No bath robe and no slippers, but a shower whose door didn't close and which therefore soaked the bathroom floor. No shoe horn. The room amenities included the cheapest instant coffee -- not a nespresso machine, such as one finds at the competition (Radisson Blu, for example). There was no bottled still water (just a couple of sparkling in a fridge that was otherwise empty). The toiletries are now minimal too. The room is still luxurious and the bed and chair very comfortable. But the WiFi is disastrously slow (unless you pay for an upgrade) and a movie costs more than 10 pounds. A higher standard of all such amenities should be assumed at a place like this. Instead, I felt nickled and dimed, while I paid a small fortune.

Convenient because of location in Terminal 5Posted Nov 6, 2014
Biggest problem encountered: FAX. sent by hotel to the USA but it was not possible to get confirmation that the recipient received it. The recipient never got the fax. The hotel should have scanned the document and sent by email Document was resent from Princess Cruise ship
