Lovely

Lovely place, very basic, which suited us as we had a lot to do while in the city. It was sort of like a luxury hostel. Great location, I couldn't find anything with a lower price in that part of the city. Rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly.

Conveniently place for my purposes

Posted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: I wasn't there to do things of a tourist nature
There was no hot water in the evening when I went to bed, despite being assured ithere would be by 21.00 hrs The breakfast was a poor apology for a continental breakfast.

OK Hotel - Good location

Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: The location was good!
Cons: Upgrade the rooms - provide electric outlets in the bathroom, plugs for the tub and sink, a larger mirror in the bathroom.
Location: Tussauds is close - too expensive! The Gourmet Burger Kitchen around the corner on Baker St. was great, also Alsop Arms pub across the corner.
The location was good, central and close to Tube so was easy to get to attractions. Coffee shops, pubs and food stores very handy. Hotel facilities are clean but rooms are small and run down. Our room was on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. This makes it a challenge if you are not used to stairs and also when toting luggage up and down. Say only one staff member in the whole week - who was very nice but there just wasn't anyone around to assist if you needed anything.

Avoid if you have a family

Posted Aug 21, 2013
Cons: The smell in the room!
Location: To be fair, not easy to find at first but very central
This hotel was extremely disappointing, issues range from major things such as wet carpet smelling of what seemed to be vomit, to a damp bed and damp/fusty smelling pillows. There was no bath panel (wood and nails protruding). A phone socket pulled from the wall with the case open and wires visible. There was no hot water at 7am in the morning, no hair dryers in the room and the chairs were stained. There were also holes in the ceiling stuffed with paper to block them. Breakfast was a disappointing affair of three options on 'Asda value' cereal or toast, and a large bowl of yogurt and tea and coffee or juice. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. All in all a very unhappy experience and we left as soon as we could feeling like we needed a good shower.

Convenient location

Pros: Location. The staff were nice and helpful though not always present.
The hotel was adequate, except that it was very hot and there was no air conditioning, nor were there any fans. The lobby was shabby, the front stairs dirty.

Never again... not cozy at all.

Security was lax, door was unlocked all night with no one manning the front desk. Old and moldy hotel.

There are better options

Pros: Good location
Cons: Not comfortable
We booked this hotel at the last minute after extending our stay in London when we weren't able to extend our initial accommodation. I really wanted to like this hotel as it was in a great location and the staff were friendly enough. It was not great though. What bothered us was that the room was tiny and in poor condition. We saw inside a few other rooms whilst we were there and they all had at least two beds. We didn't even have room to open a suitcase on the floor. The bathroom looked like it was in the midst of a renovation. The cover that you normally have around the bottom of a bath was missing entirely which means you could see all the pipes underneath it. It was not clean under there and there were many gaping holes where creepy crawlies could get in. The bathroom didn't smell good at all and was half tiled. The description of the room mentioned tea and coffee facilities, a desk and toiletries. There were none of these, not even so much as a box of tissues. The pillows were hard and lumpy. There was something going on in the room next to us or the ceiling above us because from about 8.30am there was constant banging. We had to get out of the room as soon as we woke up. It drove us mad. This place has so much potential but unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience at all.
