“Horrific staff mars an otherwise above-average hotel”
The staff acts as though it's a privilege for you to be a guest, when in fact, it's really the other way around in a competitive market such as hotels. I can honestly say that I've never dealt with less professional, brazenly rude hotel staff in all my experience traveling. Never again. Which is a shame because I've very much enjoyed my stays at their other properties and never once had even the slightest of complaints.
“Wonderful Stylish Property”
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed so far, and I usually stay at about 20 five-star hotels annually. The cleanness, the service, the concierge are top at this hotel. As to the location, you cannot wish for a better one... I love to explore new hotel with each trip, but will definitely stay here again if the price will be right and my travel destination will be nearby.
“Great location”
Loved the location. Very convenient. Great bathroom. Small room but comfortable bed. Would highly recommend.
“Perfect location, clean, friendly staff”
You can't ask for a better location than St. Martin's Lane (perfectly situated in Covent Garden, near Trafalgar Sq/National Gallery and Picadilly Circus, and just 2 minutes from the Leiscester Sq and Charing Cross tube stops). Everything is closer than it appears on maps (all theatres, great restaurants, etc). There's no name on the outside of the building so it's difficult to find, just look for the yellow glass front building across the street from Starbucks (another plus to help beat the jet lag). The staff is very nice. Lobby is very chic almost to the point of being overdone. The hallways on non-lobby floors are dark and look dingy due to the low-level "mood" lighting. Rooms are very clean, accurately described in size and overall nice. Bed is comfortable. Stylish modern bathrooms. Don't expect a view as our room had non-adjustable blinds between the window panes. The weather while we were there (March) was comfortably in the upper 50s/low 60s but the hallways in the hotel were like a sauna. Our room was just slightly less warm so we kept the heat down as low as possible and opened a window. Definitely worth the money for the comfortable room and amazing location, I can't rave enough about how close everything was.
“Nice hotel, great location”
Not your typical stuffy British hotel.
“Great Hotel”
Hotel is in great location and great service except the restaurant
“Superb”
Beautiful, modern hotel in a prime location of the West End. Hip and trendy. Incredible service. Highly recommended.
“Great location, stylish hotel”
Very nice!!! This is a very stylish hotel that is in the middle of everything. If you want great location stay here. It is two steps away from Trafalgar square and 5 steps away from Piccadilly circus. You feel like you are in Times Square. Great to walk around. Rooms are very small but you wont be in the rooms for long and service is exceptional. Hotel itself is almost like a lounge/club. Contemporary and stylish.
“Favorite Hotel in London”
The hotel is clean and modern no to mention having a great anc onvenient location. the rooms are bright modern and up to date. Service upon arriving thru the entire stay was great. Would definitely recommend staying here.
“What a great place to stay”
This was my first trip to England and I wanted to pick a hotel in London where I could step out of the front door and be in the middle of everything. This was the perfect selection. The hotel itself is on a quiet street and a bit difficult to find at first without a map, but once you are there, you are steps away from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery (literally around the corner from the hotel), and blocks away from all of the West End theatres. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the London Eye and 15 minutes to Parliament and Big Ben. The room size is a bit small for the standard room, but no smaller than a comparable hotel room in NYC, and all of the amenities are there. The only downside is no free wi-fi - the hotel charged L15 for 24 hour access. The room had plenty of light, with windows all across two walls. The concierge, Ian, was incredibly helpful in scoring theatre tickets and picking out the right sights to see. Definitely include this hotel in your options when staying in London.
