Pleasant Stay

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location and facilities and value for money
Cons: We had a front room which could be noisy at times. No Air Cond, so window had to be open at night during the summer. Try to get a room at the back.
Location: Location is good - just a minute or two from tube and several bus routes. Plenty of pubs and eateries near by.
Location is good - just a minute or two from tube and several bus routes. Plenty of pubs and eateries near by. Our initial reaction on seeing the room was pleasant surprise. The room was relatively spacious for a 3* London Hotel, had arm chairs, tea and coffee making facility, TV and a bathroom with enough room to move.

Pros: Quaint, well maintained.
Set in a very pretty street (Pembridge Gardens) with Portobello Market (5 mins walk), Notting Hill Gate underground (2 mins walk), cafes and pubs a short walk away.

Good location

Rooms were comfortable but a bit tired. A good carpet cleaning would go a long way. Staff were excellent, very helpful and pleasant. This was a great choice for us. We were only there 2 nights and managed to see a lot of London and have a very comfortable stay

Rundown Conditions

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Updated room key card access
Hotel is non smoking but I woke up every morning coughing from cigarette smoke in my room. I told reception and they would look into it but I was only there two nights. All smokers go out to the front to smoke so if you have a room at the front your room will smell of cigarette smoke. Some of the furnishing in the room fell apart easily. room key is old fashion turn key you need to lock and unlock with and was very time consuming in coming and going. Door looked as if it had been broken in before and seemed very unsecure. Most furnishings, rugs looked overly worn and faded.

When we moved to room 21 the space was good for two people. Room 18 was too small for two people. Nevena and Lilly were very helpful!!!

Would stay again

Tired carpet and furnishings could use some sprucing up. Typical of older building, thou. Pleasant staff. Good room amenities, like complimentary tea, coffee, cookies and water. Upscale toiletries. Would stay again.

Lovely place in great location

Pros: see above
Cons: Unexplained cigarette smoke smell
Location: see above
Very pleasant reception staff, beautifully furnished, quiet, spacious (rare in London) room with a large window, coffee/tea making facility, very nice bathroom with toiletry items, and free wifi. Was disturbed by a strong intrusion of cigarette smoke smell in the morning, despite this being a no smoking hotel, but a quick phone call to reception put an end to that. Fabulous location just steps from Notting Hill Gate underground station and buses to central London locations. Just a few minutes walk to a choice of cafes, including Ottolenghi, Paul's, and Le Pain Quotidien, plus an enormous array of ethnic and local restaurants. 10 minutes to Kensington Gardens, which borders Kensington Palace, former home of Princess Diana and current home of Prince William and family. What's not to like?

Great Bed & Breakfast!

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Safe walking distance to a variety of restaurants, historic gardens, movie theaters and tube stations. What a great location for filmmakers!
Cons: We enjoyed our stay in this very warm very Victorian home!
Location: Safe walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, currency converters, banks, Kensington Palace Gardens, bookstores, bus tours.
This charming vintage hotel located on a quiet street and easily spotted by two palm trees on each side of the entrance invited us to step back in time. Breakfast in the conservatory, smiling staff, cozy furnishings and the bed with a very soft down comforter made our stay very Victorian. A small English bathroom with heated bath towels was perfect for any individuals wanting comfort and privacy. We are looking forward to our next stay!

From the minute we checked in, we loved the Abbey Court. The people were warm and welcoming. The room was charming and comfortable. The staff took care of all of our needs from show tickets to a taxi. Thanks!
