Nice BnB good location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
We picked this BnB as we were going to a concert at Wembley Stadium and wanted to be close to the stadium, this was about 15 minutes on the tube. Kilburn station is about a 5 minute walk away, the pub downstairs from the BnB had friendly staff and good food, very reasonable prices for London! Our room was clean and comfortable.

AVOID ROOM 1A

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: the fact that the room was clean
Cons: carpet stairs, slow closing hinge on entrance door, notice to be mindful of other guests, decent pillows, scrap breakfast and close down room 1A
We stayed in ROOM 1A which was at the top of the first flight of stairs, as you open the door the small double bed with wafer thin pillows dominates the room, the en-suite just about fits one person in, the room was clean but that was the only plus as once we went to bed there was a continuous banging of the entrance door as other residents made their way to their rooms at times it felt as if the other residents were in our bedroom and the noise from the stairs which weren't carpeted was very loud plus the second flight of stairs were over our ceiling which added to the problem, this noise went on until about 1am then started up again at 6am as residents started to leave, regarding the breakfast it was a first up best fed policy, when we arrived in the dinning room at 8.30am there was hardly anything left some cereals jam and a bowl of very old fruit, we had to ask for orange juice, cups for coffee, bread, butter and plates for toast and requested some croissants when we were told there were none left all in all we felt that we were unwanted WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN

True London experience

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Great hotel. Fantastic bar. Even better people. I could not have been more fortunate than to stay at the black lion inn. It gave me everything I wanted and more for my stay in London. Not only can you be a tourist, but, you immediately feel a part of London culture and community. Anyone who wants to experience London, this is the place to do it.

Good value

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Price
Cons: room could be more 'homely' but is functional and clean
Location: hotel was advertised as Hampstead - I believe this a little misleading!?
Good value hotel- not really Hampstead though? Easy check in and friendly staff.

Quite a bit to walk from the Kilburn tube station, but still worth it. Very good food and breakfast (nice pub downstairs), nice rooms.

Nothing special, but suited us

Posted May 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is fine if the main thing you want is a bed for the night, which suited my girlfriend and I. With that said, the Wi-Fi didn't work and breakfast was a little underwhelming. There's a discount available at the restaurant for guests of the B&B which was good and the food was ok, but not anything to write home about. The room was a reasonable size and the bed was comfy - the bathroom was a bit small though. It was the best price we could find inside tube zones 1&2, but if visiting London again we'd consider paying more for a hotel in a more central location instead.

Lots of nice features in bar and dining area

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Clean room. Very impressive bar and dining area
Cons: Breakfast buffet could have been set up to look more appealing
Location: The bus service was very good, bus stop outside pub takes you straight into Marble Arch and Victoria.
Stayed two nights, room small but clean and adequate to our needs. Breakfast was a continental style which is fine but the choices not very appealing, the plates on one morning had puddles of water on them, we dried ours but some people just used their serviettes to eat on and the bread seemed to still be frozen. We had a nice meal on the Friday evening and the staff were very good but the girl overseeing the breakfasts seemed a bit indifferent. .
