tiny room, rude head housekeeperPosted Nov 27, 2013
the room was very small, even for a european hotel...the head housekeeper had an attitude problem and thought her schedule of cleaning the rooms was more important than the schedule for the hotel customer

Pros: Nice quiet neighborhood and conveniently located to transportation.
Cons: Better communication from the front desk regarding amenities provided.
The hotel was conveniently located to the Underground and was relatively clean. However, the room was incredibly small with no place to unpack clothes. The bathroom was up a flight of about 10 narrow steps that you practically had to walk up sideways. The bathroom was extremely small with no shelve space for toiletries. The plaster outside the shower door was crumbling from water damage and there was black mold in the shower itself. When we checked in the front desk didn't tell us there was a coffee maker hidden in the room inside of the nightstand and we didn't discover it until the second morning. One night when we returned to the hotel we wanted one last glass of wine so we downstairs to the bar, which the front desk assured us was still open, but no bartender to be found. We had to go back upstairs and have the front desk call downstairs and let them know they had a customer. I guess the bartender was in the back room chit chatting with the dishwasher. There is a house cat in the lobby that is very friendly, but housekeeping should do a better job of vacuuming the cat fur from the furniture, just in case they have guests with allergies. We have a friend who puts up business clients at this hotel, so hopefully they are getting better treatment or it wouldn't reflect well on his business.

Lovely city hotelPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: Four poster bed, the lovely vintage lift and the cat
Location: Maida Vale is a refined and peaceful neighbourhood, with good restaurants and easy tube/bus links to central London.
The Colonnade is a charming, old fashioned hotel, with luxurious furnishings and lots of nice touches, like fruit, tea and coffee and free water. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly (as is the adorable resident cat) and the four poster beds with Egyptian cotton sheets are gorgeous to sleep in.

Lovely hotel in a great part of LondonPosted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: Location and definitely the staff.
Location: Discover the delights of Little Venice. Short Tube ride on Bakerloo line to all the sights of central London.
I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Collonade Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. This was my first time visiting this part of London and it was a surprise to see the canals of Little Venice lined with canal boats. The hotel was great. Although my room was small, it was perfectly adequate for me as a single traveller. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed was very comfortable and there was a good sized bathroom with a great shower (which is not always a guarantee when staying in UK hotels). The staff were exceptional and very friendly. The only issue was the lift was not working for the first 4 days of my stay and given I was on the 4th floor there was quite a hike to my room. Overall a great hotel in a great location and is highly recommended.

Quaint hotel, close to tube station.Posted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: The friendly, helpful staff. My wife enjoyed the bottled water which was provided each day.
Cons: Wi-fi connectivity was totally inadequate.
Location: Primarily a residential area so there's little to see and do here. Avoid the Italian pizzeria around the corner...the owner was incredibly rude.
Lift was out of order during our entire 10 day stay. We found this quite inconvenient as we were staying on the third floor. Wi-fi service is very unstable, most annoying indeed! On a positive note, the hotel staff were most helpful and always a pleasure to deal with. Overall, a pleasant place to stay.

They wowed us!Posted Sep 30, 2013
We had booked two rooms for our stay September 25 and 26. upon arrival, for the same rate, they offered us a 3 story flat with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. It was outstanding. This hotel is not cheap but the service and facilities were first class. It's also handy to the underground and Paddington Station. Absolutely no regrets about staying there

Nice hotel in a nice neighborhoodPosted Sep 24, 2013

Colonnade hotel was located very close to the Warwick Ave tube stop which made it very convenient for commuting. We were also able to walk to Hyde park and Knightbridge area from the hotel. In addition there were nice restaurants and coffee shops on nearby edgeware ave and we enjoyed walking around the Little Venice area. Colonnade hotel was very comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly. Major drawback the elevator was not working for our 4 night stay and we were on 4th floor and we did not enjoy climb at end of day as we were usually very tired after a day of walking in London.

Quaint hotel in lovely area of LondonPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: The quaintness and locality.
Cons: Perhaps a fresh coat of paint on the internal woodwork.
Location: Great cafes nearby for breakfasts, fabulous restaurants on canals for dinner. Can recommend The Summerhouse for a great seafood meal.
Enjoyed our stay even though we were in a smallish room on top floor with no working lift. Room was nicely furnished although perhaps areas such as window sills etc could do with scraping back and a fresh coat of paint. Hotels of this vintage rarely have air conditioning so even though it was noisy to operate it was much appreciated considering the warm temperatures in UK during our stay.

The room was too small even for one person.Posted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: I don't like the hotel and will not plan stay there in future
It was not enough space even for one person. The room was too small even for one person.
