“Convenient to Heathrow Airport”

We didn't check in until later in the evening around 12:30 a.m. and the fellow who was working the reception area was extremely helpful and had a nice attitude. We checked in and he was able to get us some ginger ale without any problem. He also called the airline to determine which terminal our flight was at and then called the tube line to make sure there would be a tube at the conveniently located Hounslow Central Station at 5 a.m. To top it off, he gave us our wake up call at 4:30 a.m. so we could catch an early morning flight to the U.S. I don't know what his name was....but THANK YOU. Since we spent so little time at the hotel, all I can say is that the beds were comfortable, the rooms clean. They might fix the door of the shower. I'm not sure if that is what caused the water to be all over the floor after showering. Other than that, no problems. I would stay at this hotel again especially if we were lucky enough to get the same fellow at the reception desk.

“Good place to stay!”

Recently stayed at the hotel for about a week. Even though the surrounding area was a little run down, it had tons of character and the residents of the area very willing to help with directions etc we always felt safe. The hotel was great, quiet, small but clean and the price was reasonable. Only short train ride into London. The train station was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Minutes from Heathrow airport. The hotel and restaurant staff could not have been more gracious, they went out of their way our entire stay.Would definitely stay there again.

“Indian town”

It is a good location for next day travel to the Heathrow airport. It is 45 min away from London by subway. Not very convenient but it is possible to handle if is not in a rush hour. It is safe to walk late night. The Hotel restaurant chef is good and the hotel staff is very friendly. It has a good gym to workout

“Relaxing location before traveling home”

Picked this hotel because of how close to LHR airport, flying out the next day. Excellent pool and locker rooms. Close to town, which has a street closed down of just shops. Many Pubs nearby to grab some food. Area was safe. Walked home after the pub closed and felt safe.

“OK hotel, with some major issues”

Upon arrival, the staff seemed very friendly and I was warmly greeted. We had paid our bill in full before checking in, but the front desk required a credit card that 'would not be charged'. They then proceeded to put a 150GBP hold on the card without my authorization. Great., but the funds were released within hours of us checking out. WiFi was on only in the lobby, but if you brought a laptop and a CAT5 cable, you could use it in the room. It was painfully slow, and almost worth walking to the Starbucks on High Street to get their free wifi. Now for the room. We were on the 3rd floor, and the room was very clean, however the AC unit was very cryptic and hard to use. Also the mattress had an extreme dip in the centre. The fridge was one of those that charges for every item, but the door had been kicked in, and was empty. The fear of a lot of travelers is a hotel fire. Well at 3:04 AM on the 2nd night of our stay the fire alarm went off. We hurried to open the door only to find out that it was a computer glitch. The alarm continued to go off for the next 24 hours, and was still not fixed when we checked out. Sad. The on-site Gold's Gym was nice, but we did not go to the pool, sauna, or whirlpool. Lastly the location. Hounslow Central is the nicer of the 3 Hounslow tube stops (and the safest). That being said, it must be know that this is not a dangerous part of town, but very ethnic. If you want some good Asian food, go to the Americano, or the Bull Pub across the street.

“Pretty good hotel”

While having only two stops on the tube to go from Heathrow airport to get to the hotel was awesome, to get into London you have to ride the tube for at least 20 minutes. I love riding the subway, but if you want to avoid it as much as possible, I would not recommend this hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is nice. It's small and there's not very much, but there is a shopping center nearby with some restaurants and internet cafes. There's also an ASDA (Walmart) within walking distance and a few small grocers down the road, so that's pretty handy. The room service is great and all the staff is super nice. The free breakfast is a little lacking, but for four pounds more you can get scrambled eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. The bar isn't much more expensive than the pub down the road and it's usually pretty empty. Like I said, if you don't mind riding the tube for a while, then this place is amazing!

Area recommendations
Camden was pretty awesome; there was live music and cheap food. Chelsea was interesting - not too busy but pretty. If you go to Chelsea, definitely check out Rococo Chocolate. It's about a mile from the underground station, but it is definitely worth the walk - SO good and pretty reasonably priced. Of course you have to walk around Westminster and central London. Talk to the locals, they'll tell you about all kinds of activities and must-sees that you won't find in any handbook.
When to go
Both times that I have been to London were in early summer and it was amazing. It was a bit cool, but not freezing and it only drizzled once out of the seven days I was there.
Getting around
The best (and most likely cheapest) way to get around is by buying an Oyster Card. It's a prepaid travel card for the underground tube (subway). Any of the stations sell them and for a 7 day card for zones 1-6 (if you stay closer to town you'll probably only need 1-3) cost about 60 poounds, which is about $90 and I rode the tube at least four times a day, every day. Definitely worth it!
What to pack
Definitely jeans and at least a light jacket. Even in summer I needed one, and I love the cold. Shoes that you're comfortable walking in are a must. In the week I was there I probably walked at least 30 miles.
Must see
Westminster Abbey is always my first stop. It's gorgeous and definitely worth the 15 pounds to get in. If you're not afraid of heights, the Eye of London is an amazing experience. The British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum are also amazing. One thing I highly recommend is just walking around. It's difficult to get lost in London since there are both bus and tube stops everywhere, and where there aren't there are signs pointing you how to get to one. Walking around the different neighborhoods shows a completely different side of London that is definitely worth seeing.
