Convenient hotel for an event at Lingfield Park

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff manners. The heating levels of the breakfast buffet.
Location: Lingfield Park Racecourse, British Wildlife Centre
The hotel was ok. The room was clean but could have been better. The overall condition of the hotel was acceptable and some parts including the garden were very nice. The breakfast was good, although on our second day there, when we arrived at the restaurant we were told there were no tables available and asked to go to the Q Bar, where breakfast had also been set up. We went across to the bar but there were no clean tables and the only seats left to sit on were the small soft seats in the centre....not convenient for eating breakfast. We returned to the Bay Tree restaurant to be told yet again that there were no tables and that we would have to wait in the lounge. We walked into the restaurant to get a drink while we waited and saw several empty tables which had been cleared but not relaid, so we sat at one of those! Several other people were being turned away which was astonishing seeing as there were plenty of empty tables. Once we served up our breakfast, although it looked delicious and had certainly been so the day before...... unfortunately it was very cold.......therefore we could not eat it. We were asked why we had left the food and the when we replied, the staff members reply was "oh sorry guys". To add to this, when we received our bill we had been charged twice for breakfast on both days and had to wait while the receptionist sorted it out. A convenient hotel for Lingfield Park racecourse, but would not stay here again otherwise.

Nice hotel but awful experience

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Ambience, Staff.
Cons: Make walls out of concrete please.
Location: There is nothing to do nearby.
I arrived at the hotel to a welcoming staff member and the booking was simple, i went to my room to find that I had some sort of batchelorette party in the room next to mine. The noise was literally unbearable. It was so bad that I went for a drive and returned a few hours later to a similar experience. Like I said, the hotel was nice and friendly but my experience completely ruined my sleep and my stay.

Badly laid out room - nice painting though

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: The pool, though one of those irritating odd shaped ones with a load of space taken up with a staircase heading into the pool, was okay.
Cons: Swiping credit/debit card for potential expenses. With debit card this means that for two weeks cardholder pays twice until potential expenses refund.
Location: Don't know - just needed bed for the night.
The room was quite cramped but that would have been fine had the wardrobe not been virtually inaccessible because of position in corner of room. The tea-making stuff was in there - on the floor, which was pretty terrible really, especially if you were looking for somewhere to put your shoes. There was a lovely painting on the wall though.

Not quite up to four stars

Posted Oct 29, 2014
The room allocated was situated next to their air con unit that ran 24/7! There was no problem when I asked to change ,however this room should never be used with the constant noise from the unit even with the windows closed. The rooms were very small.

We needed a hotel for a overnight stay. Fine for our needs. However, the room was a bit small and we would have wanted more space if the stay had been longer.
