ExcellentPosted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: The location, helpful staff, cleanliness, beautiful room and comfortable bed.
Location: The hotel is located in close proximity to Kensington High Street tube station and buses and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
I had a fabulous three night stay at Kensington Close Hotel. The location was great, our executive double room was terrific with an extremely comfortable bed and we had great service from the hotel staff. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Elevated is always waiting. One elevated was out of order and congested always.

Nice looking, but out-of-the-wayPosted Jul 27, 2015
This hotel is seductively nice-looking. It has a slick exterior and is surprisingly large for a London hotel. However, it is far away from everything (the tube stop is a block away -- you'll need it to go anywhere), the room we had was tiny (even by European standards), and the gym that was a big draw for us was an additional 8 pounds per person to access. I woke extra early one morning to catch the gym's 6:15 opening before a busy day of sightseeing, only to find the person who was supposed to open that morning was late. I came back three times in the next hour to see if it was open, and when it finally was, I was told dismissively they opened late today and no, I could not have my 8 pound fee waived for my trouble. Not impressed.

Adequate hotel close to the tube and Kennsington PPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Good location. Close walk to the "tube" and Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace and Royal Albert Hall.
Cons: More attentive front desk staff!
Location: Kensington Palace, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, shopping, restaurants...
We stayed at the hotel for five days while visiting London. We found the rooms and the bed extremely small. Upon arrival late at night, when we checked in, we were given our room key. We were never told that in order to activate the lights, the room key needed to be inserted into a box inside the door. Needless to say, after traveling all day we were exhausted and aggravated at the fact that we were not informed upon check in. Then the room safe was not working and needed to have the battery replaced. This did not leave a good first impression.

Walking distance to subway station.Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Close to subway station.
Cons: The room is too small for comfort-one has to squeeze between the bed to get to the bathroom. The safe box is on the floor!!!
Location: Near Hyde Park
Room was just too small. Only one of two small elevator (6 persons max) is running.

gute Lage um mit dem Bus (Linie 9) in die Stadt zu kommen. Frühstück: gibt es günstiger (wenn man nur Cafe und Croissant möchte) ganz in der Nähe. Im Hotel Buffet für 12 BP... wer es mag.

Gediegenes Hotel in StadtnähePosted Jul 23, 2015

Nice Hotel, Great Location, Friendly StaffPosted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: location, friendly accommodating staff
Cons: don't throw away bags not near the bin!
Location: close to High Street Kensington tube stop on the Circle and District line. Restaurants close by include Wagamamas, Strada, pubs etc
My husband and I stayed at the Kensington Close Hotel in mid July. I was very pleased with our stay. The hotel is in a great location, a one minute walk from High Street Kensington tube stop, very close to shopping and several restaurants (Wagamamas, Strada etc just a few minutes walk away), there's a Boots on the corner as well as a Marks and Spencer food stop. The room was small (but this is expected, it's London after all!) but very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms (although small) appeared to be recently updated and were new and very clean. I had one small unpleasant incident were a bad of food stuff in my room (containing some chocolate bars and pastries) went missing (possibly thrown out by accident?) but when I spoke to the Duty Manager about it (Agnes) she was helpful and friendly and they addressed the matter as best as I think they could have. The staff was pleasant and friendly. When I asked for my twin double room to be changed to a double they were helpful and accommodating. They even kept my luggage when I went out of London for two nights! Overall a very pleasant stay. I would suggest this hotel for sure and will be back if ever in London.

Great location, room a little on the small side.Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, professionalism of the staff.
Cons: The size of the rooms.
Location: High Street Kensington tube station is a minutes walk away, the rest of the high street another 30 seconds away, lots of great shops and cafes.
Really looked forward to going to the Kensington Close Hotel, its location is fabulous. 2 minutes walk from High Street Kensington, and even less to the tube station! The staff were all very pleasant and largely helpful for a solo traveller like me. My only concern was at the size of my single room, I guess it reflects the premium of space in west London as I did think it was on the small size, otherwise the room was very sleek and modern (and clean thanks to the good work of the cleaners). I may return to the Kensington Close Hotel in future, for the location if anything else.
