A decent 5 star hotelPosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Location, comfort, free wifi (In London!! Yay!)
Cons: The smaller rooms really are quite petite and a bit of a squeeze for more than one person. Tolerable if watching the budget but quite small.

Somewhat disappointing but staff try hardPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The only three reasons why I booked this hotel were the location, the 5 star rating and its relative affordability for the area. I wanted something nice for our first wedding anniversary. Small room, not the smallest hotel room I've stayed in but for the price and star rating of the hotel I'd say the room was indeed too small but manageable. We liked the decor and many of the staff at the hotel were friendly and did make you feel like you were in a 5 star hotel. Hotel room was clean no question, and turn down service nice and thoughtful. The downstairs atmosphere and fire places are lovely and it's a nice area for a drink, though very expensive we found. They tried to double charge me for breakfast on the first morning and all that seemed a bit amateuristic since I paid up front for breakfast for all 3 mornings at check in. Some issues with the room: toilet seat didn't stay up, no toilet brush, shower leaked (no bath btw), room was cold during the day and heating didn't seem to come on. Keycards didn't work on second day so had to get replacements from reception, only to find maid had left her key card in the light-slot which may have been the reason I guess. No bin supplied in the room, though there was a tiny one in the bathroom /ensuite. Mini bar was locked we think, didn't bother with it. I'll pick another hotel next time. Rather stay further away from the city with a bigger room with lower rates for drinks and breakfast etc.

This is NOT a five-star hotelPosted Nov 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff were extremely gracious and helpful at The Kensington. However, the rooms are small and shabby. The bathroom is so small that the door hits the toilet. The room has cheap carpet and none of the finishes that you would expect of a five-star establishment. Although the location is in the posh area of Kensington, it is mostly a residential setting and is not walking distance to most tourist attractions in London. I booked this hotel because it was less than half the price of other five-star hotels on the website. I got what I paid for.

Tiny RoomPosted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: Not much
Cons: Room size,
I was surprised by the size of the room. The room was way too small for a 5 star hotel. Service was definitely not 5 star grade, either at check in or at the bar.
