Room was small, bathroom was small. Air conditioner vent was dirty/moldy and smelled bad when turned on. So the room was too hot.

The Montague was absolutely wonderful in every way. It was beautiful, clean and charming. The staff and the attention to detail exceeded expectations. Will definitely there in my next trip to London.

Brilliant three night stay in this boutique hotel gem. Staff are superb from the doorman, concierge to reception people. Lots of options for food or a drink with terrace areas overlooking an adjacent garden.

A nice old fashioned hotel with a doorman, deep seats in the lobby, and an old timey bar. Modernized attractive bathroom. Housekeeping seems a bit spaced out but mostly fine, and the bar and restaurant play terrible music, except when there is rather nice live jazz. A little taken aback by the £15 daily “optional” service charge, aka tip for the staff. I’m happy for the staff to be well compensated, but would prefer to have a higher room charge, outright, than have this added on.

Very convenient location, excellent courteous staff, beautiful bedlinen. Bathroom could have been better in that the drench shower head shot water out of the bath and over the floor and the soap dish on the side of the bath was hanging sideways.

This is a very British hotel in the classical sense but with very modern amenities. Perfect location. Lots of little touches like a personalized welcome card from the manager. Comfy bed with nice thick crisp cotton hotel sheets and duvet. TV screen that literally covers an entire wall. Rain shower. Incredibly friendly helpful staff. Concierge even managed to get us tickets to a sold out show in West End (which is walking distance.) Great bar. Lovely gardens and the best cream tea around. It's the only place we stay in London.

Hotel Montague was great
Everything about the Montague was great! It’s a nicely refurbished older hotel in a great location. Staff was amazing - so service oriented in so many ways. Nice restaurant and bar, very comfortable sitting room (although we never found time to enjoy it!)

Perfect Stay
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel - 5 nights between Christmas and New Years. The hotel staff is wonderful- they are warm, welcoming and helpful (even mailing my husband’s forgotten hat back). Everything from our room, afternoon tea, late evening g in the bar and breakfast (husband loved kippers every day) were great. We will be back.

Great customer service. Very small room. Cruise ships have bigger rooms. Judging from pictures on the hotel web site never would guess room be so small. Found dirty (hair) in shower when we checked in. Location of hotel a good 30 min walk to tourists areas.

This a beautiful small hotel adjacent to the British Museum. The staff are friendly, attentive and committed to ensure comfort and a great stay. Great food in the restaurant, atmosphere in the bar and central sitting with coffee in the morning and hot chocolate in the afternoon. Short walk to Russel Square tube Station gives quick access to the London sites and a direct connection to Heathrow. Will definitely stay again the next time we are in London.

Everything at the montague on the gardens was perfect to us, first of all the staff, extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful, nicely decorated room, very comfy beds . Me and my daughter stayed 5 nights, we only had a slight issue on our second night, but it was immediately corrected. The location is just perfect, few meters away from the British museum!. And the breakfast is just amazing. There is really nothing wrong to say, this is how every hotel of this class should be, really.

Absolutely lovely hotel and staff. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Everyone we spoke to in the bar, restaurant and at reception was helpful and engaging. The room was lovely, very comfortable bed. Our new favourite hotel in london. We will definitely be back.

This is a nice hotel, with the pluses and minuses of an older house made over into a hotel. All the comforts are there, but they are not uniformly comfortable. It is an easy place to like, but for the price it ought to be a tick better. The staff and the service are excellent.

We had an incredible stay at The Montague on the Garden! Very friendly and helpful staff, the most comfortable bed I have had at a hotel, and they provided free chocolate hot chocolate and coffee. I would highly recommend! I felt like a queen staying here.

Our third time at the Montague and it gets better each time. The staff is wonderful and attentive. The food is outstanding. Great location, close to everything in Central London. Nice and quiet and beautifully appointed rooms.

A quaint, elegant hotel that oozes charm. Beautifully old fashioned. Lovely service and friendly staff. We loved the little extras including a hand written note from the GM with some complimentary biscuits delivered to our room. CONS We did not have breakfast because we felt it was too expensive (£30 each is far too much money) and the bathroom toilet had a weak flush! A £15 staff tip is added to your bill and you have to ask to get it removed which is a little embarrassing. Asking to have it removed could indicate you weren’t happy with the service - which was not true in our case. But overall a smashing place that we would be happy to return to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Montague On The Gardens. The hotel has a lovely ambience and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The Montague is in an ideal location, and easily walkable to the West End theatres and the main shopping areas.
