Very Disappointing

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: New bed, pillows, blanket. Upgrading. Improve the shower.
Location: Close to Paddingtion Station and the Heathrow Express train. Close to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
Very difficult layout in the room with bed at an angle that made the room very cramped. Bed very uncomfortable - lumpy, no support. Horrible, flat, lumpy pillows. No cover on the bed, just a blanket that did not seem very clean. Bathroom extremely small with very poor water pressure.

Good central location

Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, pleasant staff, value
Cons: Water damage to stairs ceiling. No fire escape
Location: Great location, near Lancaster Gate and Hyde Park. Area feels safe
We had a short break at this hotel in March. Location is good, area feels safe. We have stayed in Paddington before and found it ideal to walk through Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the river. You need comfy shoes though as it's a long, though pleasant walk. Very good value, as a budget Hotel. Breakfast is continental, but was more than ample and an added bonus. Room was basic, quite small, but clean. For the price, you can't expect much more. We don't spend much time in our room, so size wasn't really a problem. Fridge was a real bonus.

Pros: location
Cons: cleanliness of rooms, wifi in rooms
Location: hyde park!!
rooms not the cleanest or nicest, but perfectly acceptable. Amazing location 4 minute walk away from Hyde Park and minutes away from Paddington tube and train station which are both well connected. Good value for money

It met my expectations .....

Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Location & Quietness
Cons: In our room, the curtain could have been fitted a bit better and we could have done with a thicker quilt.
Location: Quiet location, a stones throw from Hyde Park, Paddington and all that London has to offer
Let's start by stating that this is one of the cheaper hotels in the Paddington area. Therefore do not expect the Hilton! I found that for a one night stay where we would only be sleeping in the hotel it was just what we wanted. It was clean, the facilitiies (toilet, shower, sink, tv, kettle, hairdryer, fridge, safe) all worked and for the price I was happy. The breakfast was adequate (cereals, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, toast, juice, tea + coffee and boiled eggs) set out as a buffet - help yourself. So, for the price I paid and for what I was expecting, a quiet hotel less that 5 minutes from Paddington station, it was great!

Exactly what I needed

Posted Feb 9, 2014
Greeted by friendly staff and shown up to my room which was clean and warm, comfy bed with plenty of pillows! The breakfast was spot on every need catered for. The staff where extremely helpful with pointing out where shops and restaurants where found even helping me find the correct buses needed to reach my destination during the tube strike! A nice touch was the re making of my room although only there for a two night stay. Overall a comfy stay and I will be returning in the near future!

Old hotel in need of renovation and upgrading

Posted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: The staff and breakfast and elegant staircase.
Cons: Size of rooms, curtains,.coathangers, decor/
Location: Near Paddington, Hyde Park and good for transport by bus and ubderground.
No problems with reception - all booked in OK. Staff helpful and polite. This was a very cheap deal (for London) and the location near Hyde Park was ideal for our one night in London. It included breakfast. Our room and en-suite were as small as it was possible to be to accommodate 2 adults. The bed was clean and relatively comfortable. It was at the front of the building and single glazed so there was noise of traffic all night although Gloucester Terrace is not a very busy road. Worse, the curtains did not cover the windows so the bright street lights shone in all night and the combination of noise and light prevented much sleep. The rooms at the back may be quieter. Amazingly, there was little noise from plumbling or other guests, so it was a real surprise to see how many other guests had been in residence. Breakfast was very good - plenty to eat and eat as much as you like.

Nice budget hotel with good location

Good location, cleanness and staff. The bath room is a little small but consider the affordable price, it is still acceptable. Would return for my next visit.
