Better than average for the neighborhood

Hotel rooms are bigger than usual for the area and the breakfast is excellent. 6 minute walk to Paddington and 5 minutes to Hyde Park, excellent location

Construction work, temporary reception,

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Would have appreciated some offer of a complimentary drink or some gesture to recompense for the temporary reception, construction workers, out of order lift and general air of chaos.

Park Grand London Paddington

Pros: Location was good for what I needed. If you get the right staff member they are very good.
Cons: The rest of the staff. Sound of water pipes.
The room was quite small, but I guess it was good for London. Good location in quiet up-market neighbourhood. Hotel staff were a mixed bag. Original room had no desk or chair for work, so I asked to change. Had to go for lunch and come back and still wasn't sorted. The counter staff didn't know what to do. (They also later informed a work colleague I was staying in the wrong room!) Eventually was handed over to a very helpful staff member who was only too happy to do all she could. Got changed to another room with a fold down desk, and was provided with a chair. Rest of stay was straightforward, up to the point where the screeching water pipes woke me before 7am.

Lovely hotel which aims to please.

Pros: The service from the staff was excellent. They were VERY welcoming and happy to help.
Cons: Size of the rooms, They are tiny.
Location: Located about 10 mins away from Princess Diana memorial gardens, tube stations and many local amenities.
Lovely hotel just off the main road. Very quiet which was good but also smaller than expected.

The room was rather odd in its configuration. One of four walls was at an odd angle, there was no closet to speak of, no drawers to use for clothing, and the bathroom had no shelves to place toiletries. The bathroom was clean, but the room carpet had hair and needed a good vacuming. The lights only work if your key card is inserted in a slot. The hotel food was expensive. The staff were always very polite and helpful, but it felt obvious this was an old building retrofitted as a hotel. The hallways had dips that take you by surprise as you walk.
