I had a great stay. They let me check in early, which was much appreciated after a long flight. The hotel is clean and funky, and there are easy transit options.

We had a fantastic stay during the Easter break (2 adults/2 children) the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We received an upgrade on our booking which was a blessing to have an additional bathroom with 2 teen girls. Mama got that memo!! Food in the hotel was excellent, huge portions and great value. Loved the decor. We felt we were in walking distance to where we wanted to be. Can’t wait to stay again.

Mama Shelter had an amazingly warm vibe. It felt buzzy and sociable even early in the morning. We felt very welcomed and found lovely little corners to chill and relax.

Very funky type of hotel , good helpful staff. Pleasant stay overall but room seriously needed better arrangements for hanging up clothes.

Nice place, friendly, helpful staff. Room may be a little small for two for more than an overnight stay, but as a solo traveller more than adequate. Clean. Comfy bed.

Lovely cute place. Will definitely revisit there asap. Only thing I didn’t like is I was trying to get a hold of reception by calling from my room it was ringing for such a longggggggggg time and no answer so I just gave up which was annoying and the tv crashed 3/4 times so I was unable to enjoy watching my film.

Mama shelter is an amazing find for Shoreditch. Lots of great options for food and night life. The hotel is gorgeous , hip and approachable. The staff was very friendly and kind. I’m staying here anytime I’m in London!!

I really like this hotel. It’s cheaper than many hotels in the area but is high end and has a good relaxed atmosphere.

The property is genuinely amazing, it has character in abundance. It's like the model Citizen M wants to be! It's slightly out of the way and therefore I would suggest a taxi / uber would be desirable, even sensible of an evening... I'll be back!

I loved my stay at Mama Shelter! I traveled solo and felt safe the entire time. Bus stop to town center is right across the street, overground is up the block, Ubers are readily available. Lots of great coffee and food options nearby. I’ll definitely be back!

Poor service.
Loved our stay at Mama Shelter however the service in the restaurant/bar was incredibly disappointing. On both evenings we felt that we were bothering the staff by asking to order some food and drinks. On the second night specifically we were ignored by wait staff for 20 minutes. Feeling invisible in a restaurant is never nice. I had to order myself from the bar, set the table, pour water and we were still charged service charge for two appetizers... really left a sour taste. The restaurant was not closed as another couple came in after our food arrived with a child and were given full service on the next table. Won't be returning because of this. Apart from that, rooms, reception were great.

We had a fantastic time at Mama Shelter in Shoreditch. We ate in the hotel a few times. The breakfast was great. Rooms clean and spacious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and stay again. Good location for tube and bus into central London

This is a fun hotel, the room is nice and cozy, and the staff is attentive and cute. I really liked staying there, and would stay again. The only downsides are that it is a bit far from the underground but there's a bus stop right in front of it. And the walls could be more soundproof (doors and other things banging could be often heard). Overall it was a lovely stay!

Change the TV service!
Overall this is a great hotel, but last 2 times I've stayed here the TV has not worked, they use a 3rd party service to deliver the channel and it just crashes or loads. Change it please!!!
