South Kensington, London

Posted Nov 22, 2014
My five minute walk from South Kensington tube station to The Regency Hotel was truly eye opening. The classes here really do mix. From the opulent homes to beggars on the street. From neatly kept courtyards to mountains of rubbish on the streets. From classy wine bars to homeless people sleeping in shop doorways . From chauffeur driven cars to migrants standing in shop door ways heckling you as you pass. I'm a very down to earth person but was shocked at what I saw in the roads around the hotel, which itself is lovely.

Rooms have no ventilation

Posted Nov 22, 2014
This hotel is not cheap. But it is a cheap hotel. There is no ventilation in the rooms and the windows do not open. The rooms are anyway already too small for human occupancy so you feel imprisoned and out of breath. It took the manager one hour to understand the problem and move me to the only other room in the hotel, according to him, where the windows could be opened. The hotel also fronts a busy main road so you either suffocate from lack of ventilation or from the fumes of the busses and taxi passing underneath. Although in London, the staff seem fluent in every other Eastern European language, except English. Avoid.

Lovely hotel. Comfy beds. We received upgrade and room was nice sized twin. Shower power not the best but v.clean. Breakfast £15 so quite expensive - Nero's coffee is only 5 mins away. Overall very lovely

Convenient for our short stay.

Posted Nov 14, 2014
Pros: Able to walk up to Harrods for some goodies from the food hall (Christmas presents)
Cons: A little quiet to have a meal in the hotel restaurant, preferred to go out.
Location: Might come back another time to do the museums and the Albert Hall
A short break to see a show and also the tennis at the O2. Good value, comfortable room and friendly staff

Exeptionally clean

Posted Nov 5, 2014
The memory foam mattresses are very comfortable and everything is superbly clean BUT it does feel a bit like an 'upmarket premier inn'. No mini toiletries (not that that matters too much) and I forgot my own products! Room is quite small. Tea,coffee, and robes - no slippers! Would return of good price.

Lovely hotel. Great location

Very nice hotel, attentive staff. Clean modern rooms, although ours was very small, I imagine due to the deal. Breakfast not included and very pricey for what it was. But overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend.

Regency hotel London

Pros: It's location
Cons: The shower pressure !!!
A nice hotel but we had a very small room considering it was described as an executive double. Otherwise it was comfortable but the shower pressure was pathetic.
